disney ringA couple of years ago Disney entered the bridal market with a line of fairytale wedding dresses. The line is still going strong and now the designer,Kirstie Kelly is expanding into fine jewelry. National Jeweler reports that Kelly's new line of diamond wedding and engagement rings, "Kirstie Kelly for Disney by Mouawad" debuted this week as part of Bridal Fashion Week in New York. The line consists of six engagement rings with matching wedding bands that correspond to six Disney heroines, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Princess Jasmine from Aladdin, Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Belle from Beauty and the Beast. The Disney rings are being sold as semi-mounts (center stone not included) and retail for $1,200 to $6,000.

Robbins Brothers Debuts Virtual Love Note

A Virtual Love Note
Featuring Annette and Michael
Create your own at Robbins Brothers, The Engagement Ring Store
I've seen a lot of companies go into Chapter 11 and face financial trouble this year so it's rather nice to see one come out and thrive. Robbins Brothers jewelry stores had a rough start to this year but crisis often provides opportunity. The brand seems to have used the turmoil to change the overall slant of the popular West Coast engagement ring store. Where once their ads consisted of radio and television campaigns featured the eponymous brothers touting their low prices, now their television commercials boast a catchy tune, "Lovely Day" by Donavon Frankenreiter and show videos of happy proposals. It's a back to basics approach that seems to be resonating with customers who are looking for a little happiness in these trying times.

The company has now taken the song and idea behind it to create a new internet idea that won't cost you a dime. The Virtual Love Note allows anyone to create a personalized short video using the song and some basic themes. You personalize it with names, photos and other details to make it your own and can then send it to whomever you like. It can be used for proposals, announcements or just plain silliness (one of the examples is a woman's ode to chocolate). It's all part of the brand's mission to share the excitement of love, who's going to argue with that? The folks at Robbins Brothers also showed me the cute diamond ring keychains they give to customers (quick iPhone pic after the jump) and gave me four of them to give away. Want yours? Jewelry Designer Takes His Store To eBay

Many haute jewelry designers balk at selling their wares on eBay for fear it might devalue their brand. The popular auction site is usually the domain of resellers but designer Jean Dousset has launched his own store on eBay, JeanDoussetDiamonds.com. The store features high-end diamond engagement rings.

Dousset has designed for stars including Amy Adams and Eva Longoria Parker. National Jeweler says that Dousset decided to offer his rings on eBay while he was building his own e-commerce site. The site offers wedding bands and earrings as well as Dousset's engagement rings. The rings are set in Dousset's Beverly Hills workshop and each is stamped with the Jean Dousset hallmark. The ring shown above is listed at $14,900.
