Ducati Watches

While I was in Las Vegas at the JCK Jewelry Show, I checked out the Ducati watches from Binda and fell in love. I'm a sucker for anything Ducati anyway but really integrate the Ducati aesthetic very well, sticking to a red, white, black and gray palette and integrating a rugged motorcycle-ready look.

The watch at left is from the Ducati One Collection and has a Swiss made ETA 2824 automatic movement and a 42mm case in black titanium. The dial is reminiscent of a motorcycle wheel while the texture of the rubber strap looks like a tire tread. It sells for $1,175.

The watch on the right is from the Desmo Collection. It as a Swiss made Ronda 5030 quartz chronograph and the 44mm case is stainless steel. The water-resistant watch has a case back with eight screws and stainless steel screws on the bezel with a stainless steel and red screw crown. It sells for $1,095.

Bonhams' $2 Million Motorcycle Auction

On Monday, Bonhams will auction off an astounding collection of vintage motorcycles worth $2 million at the Royal Air Force Museum in London. The sale represents the largest single-owner collection of motorbikes ever to come to auction; all 300 machines are from the Professor Fritz Ehn Motorcycle Museum in Austria. Our favorite lots are two wicked - and wickedly fast - British-made Vincents: the 1955 998cc Black Prince, pictured here, est. $56,000 - $64,000; and a 1952 998cc Black Shadow, the fastest road-going vehicle of its time, est. $44,000 - $56,000.

Also included in the historic sale: a 1935 Brough Superior 1,096cc 11-50hp, ak.a. the "Rolls-Royce of Motorcycles" as driven by T. E. Lawrence (the famous Lawrence of Arabia), est. $50,000 - $60,000; a 1927 BMW 500cc R47, est. $36,000 - $44,000; a 1937 Ariel 995cc Square Four Model 4G, est. $20,000 - $24,000; as well as many other examples by Harley Davidson, Ducati, Triumph and more.

A Ducati For Your Taste Buds

Italian motorcycle company Ducati has a wide variety of licensees, just check out our gallery below for a few, but they have now joined with a winemaker. Desmorosso is a Ducati's first licensed wine which is created with the Le Pignole winery. The first wine is the Desmorosso 2006, a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 10% Carmenere grapes. The grapes come from hillside vineyards in the Colli Berici area, Municipalities of Brendola and Arcugnano. It is only available in six bottle packs which sells for 168 euros (around $260).

Tom Cruise Gets a Pricey Ducati

The arrival of the Ducati Desmosedici RR has been greatly anticipated since it was first announced over a year ago and the first one in the U.S. will be delivered to Mr. Mission Impossible himself -- Tom Cruise. With only 1500 of these primo bikes produced, he'll be part of an elite group of motorcycle enthusiasts and Ducati collectors. Now Cruise will have the power of over 200 horses between his legs for which he paid a hefty price of $72,500.

Bono's Ducati Will Be on the Auction Block

U2 singer and activist, Bono, is auctioning off his Ducati 916 motorcycle on December 2nd at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show in Birmingham, UK. This bike was also previously owned by the late INXS singer Michael Hutchence and another U2 member, Adam Clayton. Quite the special ride! So if you are looking for a new ride that has a celebrity history and connections to a great cause bid on December 2nd at the Black Horse Stage in the Arai Entertainment zone at 12:00. Best of luck!

Ducati Sport 1000 Mono Special Edition

The latest motorcycle from Ducati is one of the rarest from the Italian maker of premium bikes to hit the market in a while. There will be just 100 of the 2007 Sport 1000 Mono Special Edition sold in North America (10 for Canada and 90 for the U.S.) The Sport 100 SE has a black and gold paint scheme and is a single seat bike that has a limited edition numbered plaque located on the triple clamp. The motorcycle has a a twin muffler "shotgun" exhaust, spoke wire wheels and Brembo brakes and a 992cc dual spark motor. It sells for $11,495.

Ducati Announces Desmosedici RR

Ducati calls their new Desmosedici RR the ultimate Ducati experience. The new bike was launched at Mugello on the eve of the Italian Grand Prix on June 1. The  Desmosedici RR is the road-going version of the  Ducati Corse Grand Prix racing Desmosedici GP6. The new bike won't be available until next summer and will be a limited edition with around 400 bikes produced per year. You can reserve one starting yesterday and Ducati 999R owners have priority. A Mini Ducati for the Kids

We've seen Brad Pitt zooming around Paris on his Ducati so I wouldn't be surprised to learn that little Maddox has one of these babies. It's an electric mini Ducati from Peg Perego which also makes scaled down John Deere tractors and Vespa scooters for the little ones. The12 Volt  version of Ducati's monster only runs for one hour before need a charge and hits a top speed of around 4.6 mph. It also has stabilizers that can be removed.

Z Zegna Ducati Cologne

I'm loving the brand synergy going on in the luxury field. My favorite motorcycle manufacturer Ducati is at it again. This time partnering up with Ermenegildo Zegna, the makers of men's fashion to create a new bottle for the Z Zegna cologne. The bottle is done in black lacquer with a laser-cut racing stripe and the Ducati name up the side. The scent is a mix of Sicilian bergamot, rosemary and the casoar fruit from New Guinea. The limited edition can be picked up for $60 at Sephora.

Ducati Luggage

Like Ducati bikes? Now you can get the luggage to match. The motorcycle maker has become the latest brand to license their name to a luggage line. The Ducati Collection by Tumi is a line of eight red and black bags with the Ducati logo. The line ranges from a $35 key ring to the $435 carry-on shown here. Love the red and black and the rounded handle but is the big white logo on the side really necessary?

Brad Pitt's Ducati

Angelina Jolie may have her Cirrus plane but Brad Pitt has his own toys. Just Jared has a gallery of pictures that show Pitt zooming around Paris on his Ducati motorcycle. Say what you like about Piit, he's got great taste in bikes.

Ducati Paul Smart 1000

My love for Ducati bikes continues unabated. The latest is the Paul Smart 1000. Smart is the British racer who rode Ducati's 750 Imola Desmo to victory way back in 1972, helping to make Ducati the name it is today. The Smart 1000 is retro-styled, right down to the metallic-silver paint job, teal-green frame, and wire-spoke wheels. The look may be old but this Ducati also has modern details like a dual-spark V-twin, Brembo disc brakes, terrain-adapting Öhlins suspension, and a top speed of 160 mph. The bike sells for $13,995.
