The Fashion Statement: Crotch Watching

To all the harem pants haters out there, I have some bad news for you. It's only halfway through New York fashion week and already one trend is crystal clear. Trouser drop-crotches are continuing their trajectory south with some now hovering around the knees. Crotches have been getting longer for a while now, but some are so low they almost look like skirts.
Yigal Azrouël showed a white pair of pleated dropped-crotch trousers with a very high waist. Ports 1961 widened the waist, then wrapped it back on itself for a draping effect. ADAM showed the look in the form of a khaki suit. Even shorts scattered throughout several collections got in on the action.
Roomy pants are a reaction to the skinny pants that we've all been looking at for years. We couldn't get any skinnier. So there was only way to go. Look at it this way: At least you'll be comfortable.
