Drew Barrymore's Spider Gloves

Drew Barrymore's two-toned hair raised eyebrows at a recent event to promote her new directorial adventure "Whip It," but what was even more intriguing was her choice in gloves. Barrymore's strappy leather ornaments are more hand sandals than gloves, leather straps loop over the fingers and the glove fastens at the wrist. The Spider glove is the creation of Perrin Paris 1893, a family-owned French label which is launching a store in Beverly Hills. Style Section LA reports that first-ever store in Beverly Hill is being opened by L.A. residents Michel Perrin, a transplanted Parisian, and his wife, Sally Perrin, a Seattle-bred former model and actress.

The Perrin Paris accessories aren't all quite so avant-garde but the house's Ball bag ranks high as one of the most architecturally arresting handbags I've ever seen. The brand also created a clutch-like design which looks like a long wallet. It was created for Martha Stewart to store her enviable raft of credit cards and is lovingly dubbed the Martha. The Spider gloves sell for $165, the Martha starts at $299 and prices go upward from there.

Gucci's "Horsebit" Jewelry Ads With Drew Barrymore Still Going Strong

Clearly I'm behind on my Gucci ads because I just noticed that Drew Barrymore is the face of the company's Horsebit jewelry line. According to this post from Fabsugar, dated almost a year ago, Barrymore is the first celebrity chosen to promote the line. I just spotted one of the ads in the September 2008 Travel + Leisure, so I guess Barrymore either signed a contact for a year or more, or the company is happy with how sales are going. The cocktail ring Barrymore's wearing, for example, is 18kt yellow gold with brown diamonds, total 5.76 carats: $10,890.

The Top 10 Highest-Paid Actresses

It's not easy to be successful in Hollywood as an actress these days -- the competition is pretty fierce. Making it big is defined in a few different ways, from winning the best awards to getting the best parts to making the biggest money. And although careers go up and down on a dime and everything can change overnight, somebody has to be making the biggest money of them all. That somebody right now? Reese Witherspoon.

She's doing well for herself, earning between $15 and $20 million per movie -- despite her latest work "Rendition" not doing all that well in theaters. And she's in good company, too, with actresses like Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts, and Jody Foster joining her in the ranks of the top 10 highest paid actresses.
