Wine And Shoes To Save Elephants

Another new entry into the rapidly growing wine-for-a-good-cause category is the Rescue Wine from Juslyn Vineyards in Napa. The owners of the winery Carolyn and Perry Butler were inspired when they visited the Four Seasons Tented Camp in Thailand, Seeing an elephant in Bangkok city traffic inspired the Butlers to create a special wine to benefit the Golden Triangle Elephant Foundation which rescues elephants abandoned in the cities and brings them back to a safe jungle environment. The Juslyn Winery's 2001 Rescue wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wine is available as either a 1.5 liter for $225, three bottles of the 750 ml size for $250 or a three liter bottle for $495. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the wine will benefit GTAEF.

Carolyn Butler also persuaded Italian designer Cesare Casadei to create a peep-toe patent leather d'orsay pump with a black and white animal print comes with a 3.5 inch red heel. The shoes sell for $435 and there are just 60 being made.

Green Limousine Services

I love situations in which luxury and conservation mingle, proving that it is possible to do good and give well. Green Limousine, which was started by Seth Bounds in Vail, Colorado offers rides in a Ford Excursion that runs on biodiesel. The drinks and snacks served in the car are organic and the car is cleaned with environmentally friendly products. An article in the Vail Daily News says that for the most part, the clientele aren't looking specifically for a green service but that they are glad to know what he's doing.

Bounds isn't the only one creating a green limo company. A recent LA Times article profiled Y Fray and her company Eco-limo, a Santa Monica, California company that uses hybrids, biodiesels and any cars that are seen as environmentally friendly. Ecolimo has become a big hit with celebrities who want to be seen doing something positive for the environment.

The unique Lamborghini shown here is being auctioned off for a good cause. Kruse International is auctioning of this Gallardo as part of the annual Auburn Fall Kruse Collector Car Auction. The auction will raise money for the Child Safety Network which distributes child safety information for families in the United States. The Gallardo has celebrity signatures across the hood. The car has traveled from Beverly Hills through Las Vegas to New York and finally to Kruse Auction Park in Auburn, Michigan. Samuel L. Jackson, Jewel, Randy Travis and Jon Voight are among those who signed the car on its journey. Luckily the car's CSN wrap can be removed. The preview for the auction started August 30 and the car goes on sale on Monday.
