Cynthia Rowley Jodie Tote, Handbag of the Day

We aren't at all sure about the Cynthia Rowley Jodie Tote. It looks rather like something you might somehow affix to your saddle before riding off into the sunset in the desert. Still, it's so unusual, we wanted to talk about it, so we made it Handbag of the Day.

This 12"W x 14"H x 7.5"D bag has a decidedly Southwestern feel, with its angled stitching and the straps evoking images of a horse's bridle. We can envision this working well with an unabashedly hippie-western look, complete with turquoise jewelry and lots of fringe. The color is a lovely, warm brown. Match it to your cowboy hat and God bless.

Cynthia Rowley Metallic Clutch, Handbag of the Day

I confess that most of Cynthia Rowley's bags don't do much for me - but this one I like. Softer and more elegant than most of her collection, this metallic clutch features three muted leathers stitched together in a simple pattern. The snap closure has a pretty gold-tone catch that matches the chain link strap. Inside, the bag is lined and features plenty of pockets: zip, slip and cell. Measuring 16½"L x 7½"H, the bag sells for $345.
