Charles Oudin Full Amazone Curvex Women's Watch

This here is a thing of beauty - the Full Amazone Curvex watch for women. As is the case in the odd world of luxury I come across fantastic finds purely by accident, through relationships, and because it is my business to know. A young lady wearing this diamond encrusted tank style watch is introduced to me - allowing my bank of high-end watch brands to grow by one. Running your finger over it you felt all the stones neatly set into place. Rubies and emeralds make up a floral motif in the landscape of diamonds. In total the watch has 26 carats of precious stones.

The brand is Charles Oudin, and they are based in Paris (no surprise there). Watches like this aren't about high-horology, but jewelry with a sober tone only make decadent by the amount of precious material. I enjoy the lack of pretentiousness in the design and presentation. The case is in 18k white gold, and I am not sure of the precise size. The dial is easy to read if you don't need indicators as the dark hands contrast well with the diamond face. There is an option to have a Swiss ETA quartz or Swiss Frederic Piguet automatic movement - nice that you have a choice. In addition to this pictured version with ruby leaves and flowers, you can order one with sapphire ones. Price is 150,000 euros.

Franck Muller Infinity Ladies Watches For 2010

For men Franck Muller has been focusing on sport and complications, and for women, the focus is all about colorful jewelry watches. Some might even call them fashion pieces - which is a bit of a departure from the avant garde classicism I am used to in Franck Muller designs. Here are some new Infinity and the new Infinity Reka collection pieces (check the gallery below for more of them). The women's watches are all diamond covered in 18k white gold cases. There are two basic shapes. The tonneau-shaped case that Franck Muller calls "Cintree Curvex" and a new square design for for Infinity Reka. There is also the oval cased version available. The dials come in a variety of styles and colors, with either Arabic or Roman numerals. Dials are mostly high-quality mother-of-pearl from Japan, or just done in more diamonds with lacquer (or maybe enamel) numerals. Case sizes range from about 25 - 50mm wide. As you can see, Franck Muller is really offering an Infinity watch for every woman (just not every budget).

You can see in the images I snapped the watches are very attractive, and youthful in tone. Less for serious evening attire, and more fun and upbeat. Even the pictured version with red numerals and black diamonds is an outgoing timepieces. Inside the watches are Swiss quartz movements. Expect prices to be on par with other Franck Muller high-end jewelry watches for women.
