Electrolux has melded function and art in its new illuminated induction cooktop dubbed 'Aurora'. Using electromagnetic fields to transfer energy to your cooking pot or pan and convert it into heat, this pure white surface aptly reduces the amount of radiant heat on its surface. It features an LED-perimeter that glows during use with patterned ceramic glass atop the cooking surface and easy touch controls to boot! It even received an Australian Design Mark. As more and more homes create 'great-room' spaces this low-profile appliance can blend in and smooth the transition between kitchen and living rooms with grace and ease.

Kuppersbusch Electric Honeycomb Cooktop

The last time we saw a cooktop from Kuppersbusch, it was their Induction Wok Cooktop, which has a depression ideal for a wok built into the surface of the unit. The Kuppersbusch Electric Honeycomb Cooktop is more versatile than the Wok version because a variety of different sizes and shapes of cookware can be used on it, from large stockpots to tiny frying pans - none of which would fit the wok-top. It also has an interesting honeycomb layout, with 6 cooking zones shaped as interlocking hexagons that can be rearranged to almost any configuration. The whole unit has touch control and, because it is an induction surface, there are no worries about burns or the safety of small children in the kitchen. Prices start at around $2,300.

Cook-N-Dine Dawson Teak Table

Working over a grill can take you away from guests at a backyard cookout, since heat and smoke are not generally what people want to gather around. Of course, if you have an electric cook-top built into your table, you avoid all the downsides of grilling, while everyone can pitch in and prepare delicious food together. The Cook-N-Dine tables, like this Dawson Teak Table, all have a stainless steel cooktop embedded in their center. During operation, the electric cooking surface on the table can heat up to temperatures of 430F and also sinks down slightly due to a patented process as it cooks the food. The outside of the table, the dining area, is completely unaffected by the cooking process. While Cook-N-Dine makes tables that are all metal, this table is one that is a modified version of a design by Ascot Teak. It comes in two heights, 30 and 40-inches, and is 59-inches in diameter. It can be used indoors as well as outdoors, so you'll be able to make the most of your table year round, not just during the summer grilling season. Prices (on sale) starts at $3922.
