Barefoot Bandit Boat Fails To Sell on eBay
Filed under: Yachts & Sailing, Auctions, Crimes and Misdemeanors
The speedboat on which Colton Harris-Moore, the infamous Barefoot Bandit, was caught recently was put up on eBay. The 32-foot Intrepid boat wasn't exactly in great condition, it was riddled with bullet holes made by Bahamian police officers when they shot out the boat's outboard engines. Harris-Moore had been on the run for over two years. The young criminal gained his nickname for carrying out a number of his acts of thievery while not wearing shoes. He arrived back in Washington state this week.
The eight-year-old boat was listed on eBay with a starting bid of $80,000 and a buy it now price of $110,000 but there were no takers. The owner, William Sport, had bought the Intrepid a little less than a year ago for $125,000. It was not insured for theft and the kind of damage caused by the police. A video on KomoNews from the eBay listing details all the bullet holes on the boat.
