Ceres (pronounced "series"), is an organization of investors and public interest groups, working with large companies to address environmental issues, primarily global warming. Founded in 1989, Ceres has helped introduce a new way of thinking into the business community, "a world in which business and capital markets promote the well being of human society and the protection of the earth's biological systems and resources". Protection of the biosphere, reduction of wastes, energy conservation and environmental restoration are the four main areas that Ceres wants businesses to implement, to help the global warming crisis.
