We've featured Burberry Warrior bags before and since they're always spectacular we now have another one to share, and this time it's the Mini Warrior. Shown here in bright berry red leather accented with the traditional Burberry check pattern in happy shades of red, blue, and brown, it's a bag that has a sophisticated but casually upbeat vibe. I love the warrior bag shape but was never crazy about the over-sized metal studs, so I'm happy to see that they're miniaturized in this design. See more colors here, including a fierce and flashy gold. $1,595 The Burberry Mini Warrior, Handbag of the Day

Ah, early fall: the classic trench's favorite season. Whether you're still wearing your Burberry trench lined in perennially chic Nova check -- first crafted in 1856 -- or have updated with a slight twist on the classic over the years, you'll still want to make room in your closet for Burberry's latest, most fashion forward group of Fall 08 trenches. Burberry's Creative Director Christopher Bailey showed new shapes on the runway like the Cocoon Trench or the Tulip Trench, both of which cut a more feminine silhouette. Burberry continues to experiment with fabric -- trenches cut from silk chiffon, metallic silk that looks more liquid mercury than overcoat as well as distinctive quilting.
The trench at right retails for $3,995. See more of the season's modern trenchcoats at Burberry's web shop.
Vogue India Fashion Spread Stirs Controversy
For Vogue India's latest issue, editors decided to shoot some of the country's poorest citizens modeling such luxury goods as a Hermes Birkin bag and a Burberry umbrella. An older woman -- missing her upper teeth -- held a baby wearing a Fendi bib which cost as much as she might earn over a several month period. (Remember most of India still lives on little more than a dollar a day.) The juxtaposition has a number of Vogue readers (and non-readers) astir. In a place polarized by caste and an exceptionally apparent disparity of wealth, one would think Vogue might have been a little more discreet. Perhaps most infuriating about the photo spread is that Vogue didn't even get the names of the men, women and children posing. They are simply referred to as "lady" or "man" while the cutline goes into great detail about the various objects they model -- people as props, handbags as the main story.
The real shame? That somehow poverty never quite goes out of fashion.
Burberry Metallic Leather Shoulder Bag, Handbag of the Day
Flashy and catering to both the current metallics and military trends, this Burberry bag is sure to brighten up any outfit -- almost literally. The shiny silver acts as both a neutral in terms of coordinating with other colors but it also gives off its own glitz vibe and can be very useful for adding a shot of boldness to your ensemble. Full of folds, straps, and ruching, this bag also features a twill lining and a large central zip-pocket on the inside separating two large compartments. Plenty of room for everything! $2,995
Burberry Revenues Soar 26%

Brit fashion brand Burberry has announced that first-quarter revenues have risen by 26 per cent, continuing the upswing we reported on earlier this year. The growth is due to increased business in emerging markets and strong performance in North America, the Times of London reports. The uncertain economy has proved challenging to some luxury brands.
The company, founded in 1856, recently opened new stores have in Cannes, Budapest, Italy, Korea and Spain, and has launched a cool new ad campaign. "Our brand momentum is strong, driven by product innovation and a focused management team," Burberry chief executive Angela Ahrendts told the paper. "This momentum, together with the diversity and balance we have across products, channels and regions, underpins our confidence for the future."
Sexy Stars of Burberry's Cool New Ad Campaign
Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey is basing the British fashion house's new Fall/Winter 2008-09 ad campaign on one of our favorite movies from last year, rock photographer Anton Corbijn's Control. Bailey hired Mario Testino to mimic the moody flick about Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in the ads, which are shot in black-and-white like the movie.
Sam Riley, the talented actor who played Curtis in Control, stars alongside sexy British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, right, who's said to be a distant cousin of the Queen of England. If so she must be one of the somewhat overbred Windsor family's more attractive relations.
See the gallery for an image from the new campaign and more.

The Burberry Mason Warrior, Handbag of the Day

If you liked the Burberry Alligator Warrior that we featured back in March but don't have $22,000 to spend on a handbag this latest incarnation, the Burberry Mason Warrior, could be just the thing to satisfy your Burberry craving without doing quite as much damage to your bank account. Black leather with lots of large, dark silver metal studs detailing the outside (just like the Alligator Warrior), the bag closes with a double drawstring that gathers the top up through eyelet loops and a logo clasp. $3,195
Polo and Burberry Profits On The Rise

This story isn't terribly surprising as it seems global luxury lines are faring much better in this difficult market and economy than the less-than-high-end brands. Case and point, Burberry and Polo soar while Chico's and American Eagle plunge. The first quarter earnings are in showing Burberry and Polo with increases of 17% and 21.6% respectively over last year's marks which is a good sign seeing as how Chico's posted a quarterly decrease in sales of 9.6% and American Eagle saw a meager 4.6% increase in sales. I guess that just goes to show, if you were able to afford the more luxurious and expensive brands before gas became $4 per gallon, you are most likely still finding a way to spend your dime at that level.
The $22,000 Burberry Alligator Warrior, Handbag of the Day
It seems natural to expect a designer handbag with a price tag of $22,000 to have diamonds, gold, or platinum involved somehow in its construction to boost the value, but the Burberry Alligator Warrior doesn't go that direction at all and instead leans entirely on its name and design to sell at that exceptionally high price point. It's made of alligator skin with metal stud detailing, drawstring closure, and a metal toggle engraved with the Burberry logo. The Alligator Warrior has lots of handy features (i.e. plenty of compartments and zip pockets) but nothing that stands out as outrageously unique to this bag alone. I like it, but I admit I really don't get why it's worth so much. New Limited Edition Watches For Heathrow's Terminal 5
Heathrow Airport's much awaited Terminal 5 is opening later this month and to celebrate the occasion, several designers have created limited edition watches. Armani is debuting an an Emporio Armani Gentleman's stainless steel watch and two Emporio Armani ladies watches along with designs from Burberry Endurance, Michael Kors, Breil, Sekonda, Toy Watch and Casio G-shock. The designs will be sold at the terminal's World Duty Free store.Burberry's Spring Jewelry Line
Burberry seems to be having a bit of an identity shift. The brand, which was once the symbol of staid British style and the object of desire for the chavs, is trying to capture the fashionable and cutting edge set. Case in point the spring 2008 collection of jewelry which is, according to Elle, inspired by Christopher Bailey's idea of the "luxury warrior." The jewelry line has a bold and tough look with studs, dark metals and geometric shapes. The collection will be launched this Spring.[via the Jewelry Weblog]
Burberry Gems Satin Wristlet, Handbag of the Day

Here is a modern take on the classic satin evening clutch. Pretty berry colored satin is studded with gem-cut silver-tone accents in an allover geometric pattern. A metallic leather strip accenting the top and a matching detachable wrist strap are all the additional adornments this bag needs. Lined in more berry satin, the Italian-made bag closes with a top zip and measures 13"W X 11½"H X 5"D. $620.
Burberry Nova Iron Bag, Handbag of the Day

Here is a nice classic bag that won't ever go out of style. And at $230, it is a relatively small investment to make in a wardrobe staple. With the classic cream, red and brown large check print and reinforced leather corners, it is crisp and simple and goes with just about anything. With a little silver-tone hardware on the strap and a zip top opening, you just can't go wrong with this petite bag. Bag measurements: 3 ¾"H x 6 ½"W x 3 ½"D.
Burberry Hyde Patent Studded Clutch, Handbag of the Day

I love the berry color, but this studded bag looks like it might be a little painful to carry as a clutch. I suppose that is why it was designed with short strap that allows the bag dangle prettily from your wrist instead of tucked up under your arm. If you like gold-tone buckles, this is the bag for you - there are two on each side, three on the front and one more on the wristlet. That's a lot of buckles for one bag. $1495.
Burberry Check Satchel, Handbag of the Day
The white leather trim almost matches the amount of checked fabric on this new Burberry Check Satchel, part of the designer's spring line. It forms a wide border around the bag and outlines the top zip and the side pockets. The focal point of the bag is the large, almost nautical-looking drawstring accent, made of a thick white cotton cable. All of the hardware is silver-toned. The purse measures 14"L x 8"H x 7"W, with an 8" drop from the handles. Price:$890.
