Here we have a luscious mix of animal print (in the ever popular leopard) and pyramid studs for an exotic glam vibe. The Maddie Leopard-Print Suede Bag by Botkier gets its character and appeal mostly from the plush leather and mustard-and-brown color scheme with silvertone hardware. It has a single long (for wearing cross-body) shoulder strap, zipper and magnetic snap top closure, and the inside is lined in black nylon with four pockets (one zippered, three pocket). The Botkier Brooklyn Leather Crossbody Hobo is a terrific looking new bag in an innovative shape.

The tassels are neatly threaded through this bag's soft Italian leather exterior, giving it a boho-chic appeal and a beautiful shape. The light-catching silvertone hardware enforces the look with attractive metal eyelets.

This 13¼"W X 10¼"H X 1½"D bag is lined in white and features a full 21" drop strap, making it a true crossbody. This bag would look best worn with long hair, jeans and preferably a well-decorated guitar case, but we're willing to be flexible about that last part.

This is the kind of leather bag that looks better with age, and the color is neutral enough (and the style is unusual enough) to make it a sound investment.

The Botkier James Leather Hobo is stunning in a color that's hard to find.

This pale, almost whitewashed-denim blue is all supple leather, accented with goldtone hardware, blue criss-cross stitching and pretty, feminine tassels on the exterior pockets. Though we were first attracted to its shade, the shape is also plump and womanly -- and the pleats are charming.

The bag is 17½"W X 13"H X 3"D with a zip top and lined in a soft, creamy beige. This color makes an excellent contrast to the pale metallics of this spring, and is large enough to be your work bag, while still seeming sweet. We'd love to see this paired with ballet flats to complete the relaxed, sublime look.

Botkier Harper Lambskin Tote, Handbag of the Day

The Botkier Harper Lambskin Tote is a beautiful, bright blue bag with a fun, festive design.

This tote is belted in all kinds of ways, from the clever double buckles on the double handles to the chic and utilitarian horizontal straps which give the bag its unique, sexy shape. The warm, Caribbean blue is set off nicely by the gunmetal hardware -- and did we mention it's not your average leather, but soft, buttery lambskin? You could practically use this as a pillow.

The bag is 12"H x 15"W x 4"D, and features a cream-colored jacquard lining (creating a fabulous teal-and-cream contrast). The top zips with a tassel pull, and a detachable shoulder strap is included.

This Botkier will make an excellent splash of color to set off this seasons pale grays and beiges, and is large enough to function as a work bag for the gainfully occupied.

Available in Black or Coral (shown, and preferred), this tote has everything: shape, detail, functionality and style. The soft, buttery, gleaming lambskin is well-complemented by the antiqued nickel hardware, giving the bag a timeless feel. The angled zippers add grace to the shape.

This bag is 13"H x 18"W x 3"D; large enough to be your work bag, but fabulous enough to be your weekend bag. The angles and zipper tassels lend just a hint of cowgirl to the overall appearance, so you can pair it with your cowboy boots as easily as your work Choos.

Botkier Orion Leather Shoulder Bag, Handbag of the Day

The Botkier Orion Leather Shoulder Bag is a surefire way to fight the winter doldrums with one of womankind's fiercest weapons: hot pink.

The name of this handbag suggests that it was inspired by the three stars of Orion's belt -- perhaps that's why New York house Botkier created a purse that can probably be seen from outer space. The lush Italian leather forms a fabulous hexagon which is just 5"W x 3½"H, and with a surprising 5" depth. It's essentially like carrying an enormous, gleaming jewel around.

We'd love to see this with a pretty white coat, or used as a last-minute way to jazz up a hopelessly boring outfit (it happens to the best of us).

Botkier Taylor Satchel, Handbag of the Day

A lovely, comfy looking day bag, the Taylor Satchel by Botkier comes in brown or sand pearl lambskin. The monochrome color scheme makes for a slightly understated appearance but the pintucks with tonal topstitching that run down the sides and end in pretty little tassels bring a solid dose of style. Simple, classic style. The kind of style that says "I'm practical and maybe a little serious most of the time, but I'm not without a fun side."

I like it. Although I'm not crazy about either color option. Zip top closure, removable shoulder strap, and a jacquard logo lining. $545

This luscious bag is made from luxurious, sunny yellow Italian cowhide and lambskin. At 12"W x 9"H x 6"D, the bag is large enough for a whole day of shopping or sightseeing. Yellow goes with everything this season, so you can wear this bag with black, white, brown, and any other color you may have -- it's terrific for picking up the lemony shades in the floral print dresses you'll be wearing!

This bag has a bunch of compartments (we love the diagonal zippers), and sassy little tassels for a little extra flair. We recommend carrying this to brunch and then off to wherever the day takes you!

Botkier Violet Runway Hobo, Handbag of the Day

The Botkier Violet Runway Hobo is a classy addition to a casual outfit. We particularly see this paired with denim, and if you're feeling matchy-matchy, some sweet silver shoes.

The dark, shimmery steel-silver leather is molded into a slouchy, yet structured silhouette. Don't be fooled by this photo; the bag is actually only 4" wide if you look at it from the side. Its clever, roomy shape is our favorite thing about this slim bag. You know, besides the awesome silver.

The 11" drop strap is large enough to fling over a shoulder, and the purse itself is large enough (at 15½"W X 9"H) to hold all the less-essential things you might need on a day out -- a book, a camera, even a bottle of water would fit.

The inside lining is ivory-colored cotton. We don't know what the "violet" is all about.

Botkier Nicole Tote, Handbag of the Day

I've been trying to decide which handbag I will be asking Santa to bring me this year. I am in the market for a bag that is large, durable and goes with anything. I have it narrowed down to a few, including this one. While it is also available in a gorgeous denim blue suede with gunmetal hardware, this black leather with oxidized copper hardware is better suited for every day use. The pleating at the bottom adds a casual softness to the bag and I love the detachable braided chain strap. In fact, why would you ever want to detach it? Lined in logo jacquard, the bag measures 15 ½"H x 13 ½"W x 6"D and features interior zip and cell phone pockets. $585.

Botkier Essex Shoulder Bag, Handbag of the Day

At first, the Botkier Essex Shoulder Bag looks attractive, but unremarkable. The bag measures 16.5" x 3" x 9" and has a wide shoulder strap that is secured with large gold loops at either end. Its supple green leather has an earthy quality to it that would pair well with jeans or a casual dress and the bag has a reinforced bottom that makes it sturdy and practical. Then, you'll probably notice that there is a large golden tusk (or claw) attached to a matching chain that is used to secure the bag's flap closure. The unusual accent gives the bag an edge that makes it sexy and unique. Price: $735.

Botkier Bianca Bella Bag, Handbag of the Day

Alliterative though the name may be, there is nothing particularly poetic about the Botkier Bianca Bella Bag, but it does have a softer look and feel than some of the fall bags released recently. It is made of black leather, but it is a soft lambskin, and the bag is unstructured with slight ruching at the front pockets, so there are no hard edges in the design. The bag has a narrow shoulder strap and a top flap closure, which fastens with a satin brass turn-lock. There are a total of 5 pockets on the bag, both outside and within the suede-lined main compartment, making it very practical as well as attractive. It measures 8"H X 11½"L X 3"W, the perfect size for a versatile, everyday handbag. $445.

A good tote bag is a summer essential. Why? People seem to carry around a lot more in the summer. Perhaps it is the long days and gorgeous weather, though it might be the spirit of summer vacation lingering from your school days, but once June comes around everyone has hats, books, three pairs of sunglasses, a bottle of water and sometimes an extra pair of sandals that they need to have with them at all times. Botkier bags are designed by Monica Botkier, a former fashion photographer who was looking for a stylish bag that was big enough to hold all her equipment. She had no idea that the Trigger Bag she created would launch her into a permanent place in the world of handbag design, with fans like Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwyneth Paltrow. This ocean-blue satchel is the Lexi Bag, a top-handled bag with plenty of hidden pockets and compartments to tuck away everything from keys to cellphones. It is made of soft, supple calfskin which, in Botkier style, is durable and long lasting. The metal studs on the strap make it seasonal, but with a bag this functional and easy to carry, it won't get relegated to the back of the closet any time in the near future.
