Bally Redgrave Canvas and Leather Clutch

Canvas is such a nice change from leather sometimes -- especially in the springtime when you want to carry something with a light and airy feel. This Redgrave Leather-Trimmed Canvas Clutch by Bally takes a minimalistic approach with a basic rectangle frame styling and sharp leather trim. The body is off-white and the trim comes in red or black and includes a detachable shoulder strap and cute little squared-off top handles. Inside it's lined in matching off-white twill and there are two compartments, a gold designer-stamped plaque, and that's it. No little zip pocket! Not the most eye-catching bag but a great day-to-evening bag if I ever saw one. $1,495

The winter season is in full swing. And that means it's time to hit the slopes. Skiing is such an exhilarating sport and one that I've been learning for the past 5 years. As much as I love the sport itself - the anticipation that builds while your on the lift, the thrill you experience as you first rush down the mountain, the peace of mind you have as you find your rhythm and skillfully maneuver your way down to the bottom - I really enjoyed buying all the gear that comes with it.

Seeing D&G's Fall 2010 collection revived an excitement for hitting the slopes and looking as stylish as possible. Their collection was filled with traditional winter motifs but paired with unexpected pieces like a snowflake sweater bodysuit and reindeer full body all in ones. So to get you ready for ski season, we've gathered some fashionably chic ski gear essentials to not only keep you warm but also looking your best as you ski down the mountain slopes or lounge in front of a fireplace in the lodge.

The Bally Slouchy Leather Hobo Handbag is an elegant, feminine purse with a lot of flirty details.

The gold rings which gather the strap, the knotted "sashes" on each side, the soft, buttery leather, the detail on the zipper pulls, the dainty Bally coat of arms ... what's not to love? As you might have guessed from that upper left corner, the bag also comes in black, with silver detail, but we especially love this in this supremely feminine, creamy white. It's the perfect antidote to all the dark colors we'll be seeing this season, and likely to be in style a lot longer. The details are simple, and the slouchy shape is likely to improve with wear -- just make sure you keep it clean.

It's larger than you might think; 20" wide by 12" tall with a 9" drop. The shape calls to mind the seashell-styles of the 1980s, but doesn't hit us over the head with it. Which we appreciate.
