SACS Powershore Abarth SP Hangs Three Yamaha V8s on a 40-Foot RIB
Filed under: Yachts & Sailing, Luxury Cars & Autos

There's only so much power you can reasonably put in a car, and only so fast you can take one. So is it any wonder that carmakers and designers have been taking to the waves to get their thrills? The latest endeavor involves Italian automaker Fiat's legendary – and recently revived – performance division, Abarth, together with Yamaha (whose MotoGP racing team it sponsors and with which it has already turned out a special edition KZ1 super-bike) and shipyard SACS Marine.
What you're looking at is an inflatable – a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) to be precise – but don't go mistaking this for a little dinghy. The SACS Powershore Abarth SP measures a giant 40 feet long, weighs nearly six tons and packs a trio of 350-horsepower Yamaha V8 outboard engines. It's got a bedroom, bathroom and galley below decks, and is set to debut at the 49th Salone Nautico Internazionale di Genova this coming October.
