What's the Difference Between p and i?

So you just got that sweet new Mitsubishi 62" DLP2 with the newest of new HDMI and 1080p, but, uhh, what's the diff? Well most gadget geeks already know the difference between progressive signals and interlaced ones, but this article explains it without nerd speak as best it can. What it boils down to is, in the TVs of today, everything is going to be converted to something your set can understand, and picture quality won't suffer if things don't match up.
