The Most Expensive House in the U.S. Goes On Sale For $135 Million
Filed under: Estates
Forget Trump's place in Palm Beach, Florida ($125 million) and forget the Spelling mansion which isn't even on the market officially yet, the most expensive property for sale in the United States is now officially the Aspen, Colorado compound of Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz. Bandar was the Saudi ambassador to the U.S. and now that he has taken a new job in Saudi Arabia he will have less time to spend in Aspen. The 95-acre Starwood Ranch property is listed at $135 million and includes a nearly 56,000-square-foot mansion, and several smaller homes and buildings. The main home has 15 bedrooms and the property features stables, a tennis court, an indoor swimming pool, outdoor water features and a snowmelt driveway on 95 sprawling acres. Bandar will retain a new 15,000-square-foot guesthouse he has been building and some other acreage but if you've ever wanted to own one of the most impressive homes in the United States this is your chance. The big question is, is it worth it? Given the acreage and the size of the home, it actually doesn't seem like a bad deal. The listing will be through Christies Great Estates and Josh Saslove.
