Shane Krige

Shane Krige is the general manager of the legendary Plaza hotel in New York. Opening after a $450 million renovation, Mr. Krige is responsible for the ongoing operation of this landmark hotel.
With a hospitality career that has spanned more than 15 years, Mr. Krige has been canvassing the globe, much of the time managing five star properties. Passionate about delivering the highest level of service, Mr. Krige will usher The Plaza into its next century.
Mr. Krige has enjoyed a distinguished career in the hospitality industry at some of the most renowned hotels in the world. Prior to joining The Plaza, Mr. Krige was the managing director at the Mansion at Turtle Creek in Dallas, the only five star and five diamond property in Texas. No stranger to hospitality landmarks, Mr. Krige was also the manager of the Grosvenor House Hotel and Residences in Park Lane in London. In addition, he has worked at The Ritz Carlton in Washington, D.C. and was part of the opening team of the Ritz Carlton in Georgetown, both of which are five diamond properties. Mr. Krige has also held senior management positions with Hyatt Hotels and began his career with Marriott Hotels & Resorts.
A native of South Africa, Mr. Krige became a naturalized United States citizen in 2004. He holds a bachelor of science in Hotel Management with minor in business from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania.
