Opinion: There Is No Such Thing As Birth Rape {ParentDish}
Sep 13th 2010 2:48PM To Sunny,
Thank you so much for sharing what I can only imagine was a miserable experience for you! My heart goes out to you. I wanted to add this, though, and I suspect this came out when you went to court: it DOES NOT MATTER if you signed something when you were admitted that allowed students to witness the birth of your child (aka "informed consent," which RARELY involves any informing unless you insist on it, and even then good luck getting someone to adequately explain things!)...as SOON as you told the students to get out of the room, you WITHDREW your consent, and this SHOULD have overriden any previous paperwork. Your sitation brings "rape" to mind because of the lack of consent in both instances, but kudos to you for realizing that's as far as it went ie was NOT "rape" as we mean it.
Ad Rant: Walmart plays on fears of a clown {WalletPop}
Jan 26th 2010 1:44AM Personally, I found this hilarious (and I for one am caulrophobic- word for today, thanks!) While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I'm surprised by some of the vitriol this has riled up in a lot of people...lighten up, for Pete's sake!!! So you don't find it funny- move on! Geez!
Also, while I don't have kids yet so can't relate to the stepping on kids' toys, I do have dogs who aren't so tidy with their toys, and tend to carry each piece of hard dogfood to the carpet to eat, and I think anyone who has ever stepped on a piece of hard dogfood barefoot can relate to poor clown dad. Reminds me that I used to joke about my "alarm system"- with all the doggie squeaky toys laying around, if someone were to break into my house at night, I'd hear them coming from all the squeaks! Cheap and effective! Too bad the dogs, being Shih tzus, aren't much help in the burglar defense department!
Thanks to anyone who's bothered to read this far... I really need to find better ways to occupy my time, as do you apparently! ;)
Prince Reportedly Writes Fight Song for Minnesota Vikings {Spinner}
Jan 23rd 2010 5:54AM Where to start...
I seriously LOVE Prince's music, and even moreso just the sound of his voice, however:
WTF?? Is this a joke? Just when you think he can't do anything sillier...
Good to know he's spending his time writing fight songs and not something to help with the Haiti relief effort! For that matter, if Haitians heard this song, they'd likely be thanking him and encouraging him into more "fight song" writing...
Sorry, that was waaay more political than I usually get, but couldn't help it.
Bottom line, one of the reasons I have been a Prince fan for the past 25 years (!) or so is that some of his lyrics are so outright silly, I have to assume he's making some kind of joke, like it's all tongue-in-cheek. If that's what he's doing here, and I hope very much that it is, I'm afraid not everyone's in oon the joke my man!
(But I still LOVE his music- at least 99% of it)
This one should have been put in the "vault"...and kept there!!

I fully agree with everything you said, right up until the "this was someone of money"?!?! How the heck do you figure that? I hate to break it to you, but people can be inconsiderate and selfish no matter what their income level!

Jan 5th 2010 11:19PM To Angel: GOOD DOG!!!! (pat pat)
I'm sending you a virtual treatie!!
I think dogs are a personal gift from God to humans...that's why "dog" is "God" spelled backwards, to always remind us of this!

Sep 11th 2007 2:22AM The only thing I see on her that's grossly inappropriate are the shoes she's wearing- not exactly practical for walking miles through an airport! What I find most disturbing is how pathetically illiterate most of the posters (here and everywhere) are- sometimes I think the whole country needs to go back to school to relearn proper grammar and spelling! (there instead of they're, for example...it's very simple!!!) That bothers me far more than what some chick wears to fly in- who can I sue about this?

Sep 4th 2007 11:34AM This reminds me of Queen Latifa's (as well as countless others, not picking on her) mascara ad for some volumizing mascara, where it's totally obvious they're wearing false eyelashes! If the product were so great, why the falsies?? Typical advertising.
