Black Diamond 'Mistress Ring' To Be Given To Howard Stern Pageant Winner {Luxist}

Mar 10th 2010 2:05AM Black diamonds are worthless; they are mostly ground down for industrial use. Less than 10 years ago, you could pick up a 10 carat cut black diamond for 500$.

Cornell designer concocts garb that prevents colds, shuns pollution {Engadget}

May 7th 2007 9:41AM it's basically a textile treated with silver; what a stupid markup- and the designs are sorta sucky.

Kara Ross Tiger's Eye Ring {Luxist}

Feb 18th 2006 2:34AM that's lovely... a 5$ stone (it's one of the easiest stones to cut), 175$(at the most) of a gold, and the design isn't even remotely original!
the earrings are at least interesting.
If you like this, go have it custom made by a decent jeweler--not only would it be far less expensive, it would probably be higher quality.
And being sold at Bergdorf Goodman... you can expect it to lose about 50% of it's value the moment you get your Amex handed back.

How Hot Is The Fendi B Bag? {Luxist}

Jan 22nd 2006 4:59PM the bag is ugly... clearly fendi is going for nouveau riche market. What happened to class? what happened to cultural capital?

It's funny, the really wealthy don't buy this crap... just those silly people in their McMansions, dressed in their tacky jewellery covered of 500 diamond chips.

buy a Kelly bag (which i'm sure that 95% of the people who are buying this bag have never heard of), at least it is timeless.

sorry for being so rude- but just because it is expensive doesn't make it classy.

Science in the Kitchen {Slashfood}

Sep 6th 2005 4:12PM I've been to Cafe/Restaurant L 3 times in the last year; the first time was brilliant, the other two times... dreadful. My table ended up sending back 3 of the 6 main courses. Even the simplest dish had problems- they should focus on building a solid menu instead of a 'trendy' one.
