Report: Vladimir Guerrero, Orioles Agree to 1-Year Deal {Fanhouse MLB Blog}

Feb 5th 2011 2:19PM Owner Angelos likely had nothing to do with acquiring Vladimir. If anything, Angelos would be more likely to veto any attempt by the O's to spend money. If you'll recall, the O's had a GREAT TEAM immediately after Angelos bought the franchise (He may have been genuinely enthused at the time), they were sold out EVERY GAME, and they made a great run at the Championship two years in a row, then Angelos apparently decided to cut expenses, broke up a winning team, and voila! The O's haven't been contenders since. My only guess is that Showalter refused to stay unless the O's spent some serious money and made an effort to build a winning team. For whatever reason, it's nice to see some attempt at improving during this offseason. The O's have had HALF of a good team, now they may be closer to being 2/3 of a contender. I'm a long suffering fan and I certainly wish them well.

Professionals Diagnose Randy and Evi Quaid: Call It 'The Madness of Two' {PopEater}

Dec 1st 2010 7:13PM What they NEED is to join a radio talk show, like Rush Limbaugh's.
That way you could have THREE of a kind at one time. Then, after about 6 months of that, have Martha Stewart join the show to straighten them out. It would be a Good Thing.

Evi and Randy Quaid Want Asylum in Canada from 'Hollywood Star Whackers' {PopEater}

Oct 23rd 2010 8:56PM I hope they can work things out, and live legitimately. Randy Q has been quite entertaining in his movie spots, and I'd like to see him do more. He's probably ready to do a TV series now...He'd be GREAT! Someone should give the guy a shot at it.

Publishers Clearing House to pay out $3.5 million -- but it's no prize {WalletPop}

Sep 10th 2010 2:27PM For Everyone's Information, every "legitimate" sweepstakes or lottery will show you the probability (odds) of winning. For PCH, the odds are appoximately SEVEN BILLION to 1.
Now, after having read that, you should all know what to do with ANY Email or mass postal mailings coming from PCH.

Your chances of winning Powerball or MegaMillions are MANY, MANY, MANY times better than winning a PCH sweepstakes, as the probability (odds) of winning the Jackpot in either of those lotteries is a mere Two Hundred Million to 1.

Let's look at it this way: If you gave every single person on Earth 1 PCH number, it is highly likely that NO ONE would win, because PCH generates more numbers than there are people on this planet. While if you gave every person on Earth 1 PowerBall or MegaMillions ticket, it is likely that there would be several winners of each lottery.

If you enjoy filling out forms, licking stamps and envelopes, and generally spending time in pursuit of something that is near impossible to achieve (and some people do), then go ahead and play PCH's sweepstakes. On the other hand, if you'd prefer to spend a buck to win a buck every few weeks, with a very, VERY slight chance of winning a jackpot, while knowing that your expenditure will benefit public programs and state governments, buy lottery tickets.

The only SURE WINNER is the dollar left unspent.

Deciphering Stephen Hawking {AOL Hot Searches}

Sep 3rd 2010 7:23AM Prof. Hawking is alright with me... His brilliance is in his specialized field. I'm sure there are a great many things of which he has little to no knowledge, just like everyone else. Don't knock the man because he seeks truth and evidence; just realize how foolish YOU are for blindly believing everything you've been told.

I like Holidays, but I dislike Religion, as it turns people against each other, causing them to behave irrationally. People use it to discriminate and hate, all the while proclaiming glory for a "higher power"... What a Crock! THINK! That's all it takes, folks... Just THINK and begin to REASON. If you want to believe that you were created by a higher power and your abilities are based on his/her design, then USE those abilities to realize that YOU control your destiny, no one else, no higher power, just YOU. Take responsibility for your own life and develop consideration and respect for the rest of the world.

Deciphering Stephen Hawking {AOL Hot Searches}

Sep 3rd 2010 7:14AM The existence of God is not an important question.

It is the existence of SELF that matters. Who we are, Where we are, and WHY we are too stupid to get along with each other are the important questions. You can blame our problems on others, or you can take responsibility and try to make things better.

You are your own God. Know when YOU have been wrong, and make yourself over.

Roger Clemens Pleads Not Guilty on Charges He Lied to Congress {Fanhouse MLB Blog}

Aug 31st 2010 12:50PM Roger has an easy defense. "Evidence Tampering" or "Phony Evidenence". His former buddy apparently had ample reason to "doctor" all of those "samples". Additionally, to lie to congress one must have been lieing to SPECIFICALLY DEFINED questions. Generalities don't cut it.
Why the Govt has chosen to pursue this silliness is anyone's guess, but it is professional sport's worst nightmare. It is NOT worth our tossing out the World's Perception of American Sports to prove one lousy point. Shame... This is a shameful experience, just as those congressional hearings were shameful. Govt sanctioned witch hunts are NOT part of the American Way.

Mike Shanahan Not Taking Albert Haynesworth's Excuses {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Aug 23rd 2010 6:39AM Remember, all may not be as it seems...
None of us are Haynesworth and we don't know his actual condition.
Shanahan is doing the right thing, though, for if big Al is genuinely suffering from some ailment, then he should not be playing football; he should be recovering.
...and to those that think he's just a big, overpaid, crybaby, it was his FRIENDS, FAMILY, SCHOLLS, and FANS that taught him to behave in that manner. Athletes get so coddled that they come to EXPECT to be treated as if they're special, and the public at large has no basis for complaints when one of those athletes throws a tantrum.

NFL Owners Approve OT Rule Change {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Mar 23rd 2010 5:31PM I'm surprise the NFL would change the rules, but I can see where this change would make more sense than the ridiculous OT rule that has been in place previously. Too often, OT games are decided by the coin toss! At least with the new rule, the winner of the coin toss, if on offense, will have to score a TD to win the game, and this will mean that the opposition team will get a shot on offense at least 50 percent of the time.
Personally, I don't like sudden victory/sudden death and think a complete quarter should be played, and THEN after that, the standard OT rules should apply.

Free cone today at Ben & Jerry's {WalletPop}

Mar 23rd 2010 5:16PM Not a hard decision for me.... I won't be going to Ben & Jerry's 'Cause there isn't one anywhere near me.

If the boys would like to grant me a FREE FRANCHISE, well, I'd certainly listen to their offer.
