Jan 29th 2011 12:55AM For what it's worth, I never said he's one of the best CEO's *ever*. I said he is one of the best around, implying that he's one of the best current CEO's. I wasn't taking into account his successes and failures at Boeing. Sorry if my original comment was a bit ambiguous, but I didn't want people putting words in my mouth. And spin cycle, you did specifically state multiple times that despite what he did (or did not do) at Boeing, it doesn't reflect in the least bit on what he HAS done at Ford (that being a LOT).

Jan 28th 2011 11:03AM Very impressive, Ford. Is there ANY doubt in anyone's mind that Alan Mulally is one of the best CEO's around? I mean, I realize he didn't do it all himself, but he's obviously played a huge part in Ford's resurrection. And as far as the products go, they're making some of the best looking cars among ANY car manufacturer, not just American ones.

Jan 7th 2011 12:51PM I'm pretty sure you're right on this one. The engine was most likely a good little bit above the fatory ratings and after 150k miles had only lost enough hp to bring it back down to around factory specs. Still damned impressive because ANY engine is going to have some loss after that many miles. It's just plain inevitable. From the limited evidence I've seen so far (a few magazine reviews), Ford seems to be very conservative with their HP/torque ratings. One of the automotive mags tested the new Mustang and while it's rated at 412hp, they dyno'd it at something like 425hp. Makes me wonder what the Shelby GT500 is REALLY putting out (550 claimed hp).
In any case, HELL of an engine and I wouldn't hesitate to pick that engine in the options list when buying a truck.

Nov 2nd 2010 5:01PM This seems more for those people that race their tow rigs instead of actually tow with them (having been to the track my fair share of times, I've seen it happen). This thing has 295/40 tires on 24" wheels up front. Sorry to say, I doubt they have much in the load capacity department.

Jun 22nd 2006 9:58PM The company I work for uses them and I'm just utterly amazed at how often I see employees reaching for their hip throughout the day checking their crackberries for new mail. Even more amusing, many of them curse the device and then end up reaching for it within minutes after saying so. Makes me wonder what they do with them when/if they DO go on vacation. Perhaps they should look into this service.
