May 20th 2008 10:28AM Was with both companies as a Store Manager for many years, they simply are not the same companies any more. They have lost site of the value of a long term customer, clean stores and well merchandised in stock levels. And they have lost site of their most valuable assets, their employees, who for the most part, work very hard to do the right thing for the customer. More often then not their hours are reduced, and they hire more, and more part timers, rather then pay normal benefits as the full timers get. They also work their management days a mimimum of 50 hour work weeks and often that turns into 80 hour weeks, without no regard for their families or time freedom. Then, next time went 2 laps, then next day, 3 laps, and so on and so forth. Gradually, got in condition and eventually did 5 miles, then 10, then 15 and on my 50th birthday ran the Vegas marathon along with about 700 others. People of all ages and backgrounds, male, female, people in their 80's. So bottom line anyone can do it, if you get yourself in condition.
