My Unemployed Life: The Forgotten Woman, But Now Not Alone {AOL Jobs}
Nov 27th 2010 4:30PM I find your story heart wrenching and at the same time all too familiar. I have a dear friend who will lose her unemployment in a matter of weeks. She is a single mother who stands to lose custody of her daughter. Her family is of little to no help. I have offered her what I can in support but I am not sure it will be enough.
After the recent elections I have truely given up on both political parties. They changed the conversation from JOBs to tea parties and health care. We dont care about taxes and health care when we cannot even put food on the table or keep ourselves warm. One person said that America was just retooling...retooling for what? Just so companies in order to remain competitive can send those jobs overseas as well?
Anyway sorry for my rant. I will continue to keep you and others in your situation in my prayers. Remember the storms always pass and the sun will eventually come out. You are not forgotten.
100 Worst Songs Ever -- Part Five of Five {AOL Radio Blog}
Sep 11th 2010 9:41AM I agree with a lot of this. I think you have a few songs that aren't really bad just overplayed ie, 'My Heart Will Go On'. My vote for number one wasn't even on the list...'What About Me?' I'm sorry this is one of the whiniest songs ever written. ...It isn't fair... get over it!
REPORT: Senator John McCain doesn't believe Chrysler will make it {Autoblog}
Nov 17th 2009 1:58PM My Husband works for Chrysler and says that the new lineup of cars is very impressive. McCain does not speak from actual knowledge just a prejudice of Unions. No matter what anyone says about unions, they were instrumental in creating the middle class. The Japanese and other foreign auto makers are not putting their best out these days. The tide will turn.
'Sesame Street' Dig at POX News Draws Backlash, Rebuke From PBS {PopEater}
Nov 8th 2009 9:34PM Sorry...What??? If you are so sensitive to not see the innocent humor behind this and really remember what Oscar the Grouch is about then you don't need to be parenting anybody!!
Near House of Horrors, Families Await Word on Loved Ones {Sphere Lite}
Nov 6th 2009 3:09PM Eleven 'Black' women? Why is it so important to make that distinction? If they had all been white would you have said eleven white women or simply eleven women? Why can't we simply get past this color distinction. It is up to you the media to lead the way. We seem to always get upset when a beautiful young white woman disappears but the media takes no notice of a beautiful young black woman in a similar circumstance. I pray for all the families of these women and I am horrified for them. For the record I am a white woman who considers women of all ethnicity to be my sister.
Did Lindsay Lohan Get Plastic Surgery? {PopEater}
Oct 20th 2009 11:33PM I don't think its plastic surgery, I think its hard living. She is shortening her life by her over consumption of controlled and probably illegal substances. I remember her as an adorable precocious little girl. Unless she has some sort of life changing epiphany soon, it will be a very fast short lived life. I hope for her sake she does.
Winnie-the-Pooh's Back, But Who Invited The Otter? {ParentDish}
Oct 7th 2009 9:44AM It seems 'Pooh' is now public domain. Which means anybody can write a story with the characters and it could be a legally published work. If that is the case then it doesn't matter. We all know who the original writer is and which books are truly his.
Children enjoy pretending with other peoples original characters. I look at these kind of works as an extension of that in adults. We still like to play, to imagine. Anyone who reads the work can be a critic or just enjoy!
Is 'Paranormal Activity' the Next 'Blair Witch Project'? {Moviefone Blog}
Oct 6th 2009 10:40PM I saw the preview and all I could think was 'where's the toddler' because everything that happens in this preview has happened to me only my 'ghost' was my two year old son. Think about it.
Woman Terminates Adoption Because She Can't Bond With The Child {ParentDish}
Oct 1st 2009 5:24PM I'm an adoptive mom and this woman is an outrage. Its not about HER bonding. This child has bonded to her of that I have no doubt, even if there are some developmental problems. This will have a lifelong effect upon this child. When the child is older he will have serious trust issues. This woman is selfish and should NOT be allowed another adoption, especially when there are so many people would love to adopt but cannot.
