Mar 22nd 2006 1:43PM Actually, a lot of experienced cooks compete in this contest - including myself and a number of other food bloggers. It's the biggest cooking contest in the world, I think, and you can't beat the prize money. Also, not all of the General Mills products are eligible - only a select number of items. This year a number of organic, Cascadian Farms products were eligible, too.

Nov 21st 2005 11:25PM Trader Joe's store brand chocolates (the chips and the Pound Plus bars) are Callebaut, not to mention a bargain price. Can't resist that! I'd also pick up yeast (since I'm a baker), and it can add up fairly quickly.

Nov 18th 2005 6:31PM After reading that review in CI, I got the impression that people could, in some instances, tell the difference, but that they prefered the artificial flavor since they were used to it. It may be equally pleasing to some or all palates, but it it means a decrease in the supply of pure vanilla, I think I'll still pass.
