Apr 18th 2007 7:43AM It is very sad that we live in a society where this is becoming more commonplace.Although many might disagree, my oppinion is that we are so quick to place blame before we find out the full story.
We live in an age where instant gratification is the norm. We have kids who live in isolation with thier video games and no parental guidance. Kids get bored when there is nothing to engage them... no one to tell thier troubles to, if they look different, or act different, they end up as outcasts...and many become angry.
I personally know many parents who, if bothered by thier children asking them questions or trying to talk to them, will hand them a bag of chips and tell them to go watch t.v.. Often not even caring about the content.
I am truly sickened by this incident, and am sympathetic not only for the victims of this horrible tragedy,but also for the perpetrator. There is a terrible reason for one to get angry enough to do something like this.
I am a parent of three great people. They are not children to me... they are people , with oppinions that need to be respected, with feelings that deserve to be revered, and lives that need not be taken for granted.
Society had better recognize that if something is not done, and soon... this will be our future.
