BAIC launches 007 SUV, James Bond shaken and stirred {Autoblog}
Jan 15th 2011 11:26AM I find it interesting that potential collision damage is only mentioned once a year. Here you have a spare tire hanging out the back, one that will destroy the entire tailgate if the driver backs into a post (at any speed) and no mention. By the way the highly touted RAV4 has the same problem.
NHTSA proposes mandatory backup cameras by 2014 {Autoblog}
Dec 3rd 2010 10:46AM Now the automakers will have to add cameras, what a farce. Why not have the government just provide drivers for everyone of us dumb folk. Cradle to grave, that is what they want to control. Next the liberal press will complain about the increase in vehicle prices..............give me a break !!
Study: More than 1M EV chargers coming to U.S. by 2015 {Autoblog Green}
Sep 1st 2010 10:01AM It's difficult to believe that people are so naive that they think all these charging stations will be free. Electricity costs will rise and rise, no store, town, city or state is going to absorb all these costs and let you charge your vehicle without a fee.
Report: Congressional panel doubts GMAC business case, suggests breakup {Autoblog}
Mar 12th 2010 5:09PM Interesting, the government can't adequately run the government but they feel they can tell everyone else how to run their business. Sounds like Hollywood, "do as I say not as I do".
U.S. Annual Energy Outlook predicts "alternative vehicles" won't top 50% market share in 2035 {Autoblog Green}
Mar 6th 2010 10:17AM Everytime I see chart like this I wonder, "what the hell are you thinking?". Diesel vehicles are NOT offered to the American buyers and from that lack of diesel impact a false conclusion is always reached. "The American public is not interested in diesels"......... try offering them and there would be some big surprises !!!
Plans for 1,800-mile ethanol pipeline across eastern U.S. unveiled {Autoblog Green}
Jan 17th 2010 12:23PM This would be a boondoggle without equal. Let's not put a single taxpayer dollar into this. Roy is correct, it will be outdated long before it's complete.
REPORT: EPA planning to address outlandish fuel economy claims of electric cars {Autoblog}
Oct 1st 2009 1:42PM Perhaps a good way to measure mileage would be how much fuel is used on a 500 or 1000 mile trip at highway speeds with a city circuit also included. Just the short distance now used is misleading.
General Motors 4.5L Duramax V8 could be revived when the conditions are right {Autoblog Green}
Jul 23rd 2009 10:37AM GM needs to do it,,,,,,,now !! This would be excellent in the 1500 trucks and the full sized SUV's. Then down size it farther for the reast, why not a 3.0.
Efficient air conditioning could potentially save billions of gallons of gas {Autoblog Green}
Jul 3rd 2009 10:27AM I think if we were to add up all the fuel savings that each of the forecasts "promise", we will be able to sell gasoline to the Saudi.
NHTSA proposes tire fuel efficiency stickers {Autoblog Green}
Jun 21st 2009 2:14PM Another step toward a complete "nanny" society, the government does not need to hold everyone's han from crib to grave. Once they get involved costs escalate and quality and service bite the dust.
