Dec 21st 2012 12:53PM Gun control is not the answer. Better parenting to have postive reinforcement and unconditonal love. Stop filming violent film programs.
WE have disfunctional family/parenting situations that develope mental health issues. Parents are not home leaving children to tv, movies and games that film violence. No love at all or I could say conditioanl love. You do this and that and you are ok. The parents are not home to give healthy upbringing. We have a country at war that glorifies death for control. These mental health issues that have people out of control inwardly are trying to control their world outwardly.
These shootings this past week/ month have been commited by people that have weak family situations and some where not owners of the guns. The guns were taken/stolen from the owner.
Stop gun violence by placing stricter punishment to those that use guns. You commit a crime with a gun, life in prison or death. The gun you own is used in a crime...heavy punishment. Maybe gun owners would secure their guns so that the mental nut case will not get them.

May 13th 2010 2:53PM Inactivity is the reason for people of all ages having a health issue and or being over weight. Look around to see the lack of movement in our life styles. Most if not all. We lay to sleep, we sit to eat breakfast. No breakfast at all; what did you have for it; coffee,latte, donut???), sit to get to work, we sit at work, we sit for lunch( which fast food), we sit at meetings, we sit to get home, we sit to eat supper(how lat?).sit for entertainment, and then back to bed with that heavy late supper because you skipped eating at all. Anything in excess will harm you. Exercise will get rid of the excess whatever. People live in areas where they are afraid to go out and walk, run or play. Bad air, heavy traffic or dirty homes. It is all toxic.
You don't like it, get out and move..move away from all this poor living conditions..change jobs, do things that are energizing to you. The greatest power we hav ein life is to make choices. Do not do things that do not support a healthy you and a life style.

Mar 26th 2010 8:55PM I reads like to me that the Dr. needs some help himself. One of the worst place to find a date is going out in public to the so called Meat markets. That stuff went out with the hoola hoop, unless you just want to get hustled to hustle...get laid and don't need to worry about the wholesomeness. It is where the fake poeple hang out.
Get involve with a community college class and get to know the students. The best relationship you will ever find is one built on being your true self and meeting someone in a healthy atmosphere.
There are other ways to develope self esteem, confidence and assertiveness.
Most people do not realize that you are not ready to date untill you find out who you are, love yourself and don't need anybody to be happy. Relationships are about sharing and giving ..not getting and taking. Having mutual respect within the limits and boundaries mentally, emotionally and phyiscally.

Mar 19th 2010 1:52PM I love the McLaren race cars, but I do have to say this new style doesn't have the pizzaas as previous car(3 seater). This one reminds me of a kit car Sterling made years ago. In the day it was quite a WOW car. Not to day wih all those new designs by others. This looks like a normal commuter, not a race car style that McLaren has done in the past.

Oct 16th 2009 1:32AM The Buell and the V-rod are great products. I do believe that these products have place but need to be repackaged. HD has made the mistake of having parts made overseas and using a Rotax engine in the buell (sport bike design)and taking V-rod(drag bike design)and placing these two racers on the market as street cycles. Neither has the moxy to succeed in those areas by design. Let the japanese have the sport bike market and quit dreaming of a dragster.
The Buell XB engines need to be placed in the sportster line up and the V-rod engine needs to be placed in the top of the line Ulra Classic market, leaving the roadkings with the TC. HD needs a bikers cycle. The evolution engine back into a standard softail platform at $10k.
HD has had the best of times, and have spent too much money dreaming with new ideas and paying outside overseas sources for engineering and have forgotten the 1980"s when things were falling part with AMF subing out parts overseas. If they want ot be successful they need to keep the all manufacturing, engineering and assembly in the USA for USA workers for USA riders.

Oct 5th 2009 1:13AM I will agree with Nancy's comment. Since the networks have switched to digital, I have lost many good TV channels/programs. I do not have $ to pay for cable. Channel 12 most of the time has no signal and the other channels 8 and 10 are for non english speaking watchers. In fact TV is not worth watching anymore. Analog is like a snow storm.

Aug 16th 2009 12:59PM Oprah is self serveing, like a lot of sucesaful people. It is part of the element to self promote so that the business can make money.
My personal experience of Oprah is not that good. I was a chauffeur for a limousine company in PDX, Ore. in the 1980's. My assignment was to pick her up at a downtown Hotel for an TV show. I always call clients to let them know that I have arrived and am ready for whenever they chose to leave. When I called her room to let her know, she snaped back to saying, I'll go whenever I'm ready to go. Totally missing the the nature of the curitesy call.
