Jun 8th 2011 5:55AM Onething that bothers me when I see stories like this is you never seem to read anything about the US Navy. There are a lot of sailors out there right now defending our country everyday. I served during Desert Storm and I know what it is like to be away from my family for 6 months or more at a time.
I always read stories about people thanking our soldiers and they deserve it for sure but those sailors also should be thanked for their duty. I know after all this time I have had one person thank me for my service. Does it bother me? Yeah, I guess it does. It bothers a lot of people who served before 911 and I guess it goes back to the old saying, "out of sight, out of mind" I would like to thank all the members of the US Navy and Coast Guard who protect our country everyday without so much as a single story or thank you.
