Family Wrongly Booted From Home Returns To Wreckage {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 1st 2011 11:18AM I agree with your reply. Many people do not realize how hard and time consuming it is to try and fight a large bank. And with 8 children, I'm sure time is a luxury for these parents. I hope they do pursue a lawsuit against B of A for the damages to the house, moving costs, and mental duress. Shame on you B of A for being such a heartless screw-up!

Obese passenger forces neighbor on US Airways flight to stand for 7 hours {Gadling}

Nov 23rd 2011 6:53PM This passenger should have complained before the plane ever left the terminal. Then the flight attendants or the gate person could have done something about it. I've had some hefty's sit next to me and try to pull the arm rest up so they can spill into my seat. I politely pull the arm rest back down and if necessary, give them the "look". Still it is uncomfortable. The airlines' gate or ticket agent should have recognized that this hefty was not going to fit into one seat. And with the flights all going out completely full, there is nowhere for the "squished" to move to. The airlines are afraid to alienate one over- weight passenger by making them buy 2 seats, but they aren't afraid of alienating the passengers who have to sit near the over-weight passenger. The airlines are going to have to come up with a max weight for a passenger for a normal seat. Anything over that, you have to buy 2 seats. I'm surprised the airlines haven't already done it, it's just another fee. With out obese population, they stand to make a fortune.

Open Houses of the Week: Hobnob With the 1 Percent {AOL Real Estate}

Nov 4th 2011 11:50AM With some many homes in foreclosure and so many people about to lose their family homes, it really shows good taste to flaunt these multi-million dollar homes in our faces. This is what the "We are the 99 Percent" movement is about. Only 1% of Americans can afford these extravagant homes. 1%, does that seem fair? I don't think so. We have to end corporate greed or we are doomed to

Foreclosures to Continue a 'Slow, Steady Burn' {AOL Real Estate}

Nov 1st 2011 11:27AM The banks do not hold onto the mortgages they process. They usually bundle them and sell them to larger institutions like Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. The mortgages are not insured. The foreclosure actions come from the lender who has the mortgage. If they are not receiving payments then they have to foreclose, put the house back on the market and try to sell it to recoup some of what they paid for the mortgage.

Oct 25th 2011 11:46AM I'm 61 and grew up in a rural agricultural area of Illinois. There were houses and out buildings on almost every farm in the 50's. Everyone knew their closest neighbors up and down the road. Now almost all the houses and buildings are gone. The people moved to the city and rented the farm to a local farmer who needed more acrage so he could survive. It makes me sad to drive past the few remaining houses that are in disrepair and falling down. It is called "change" and life goes on. It is only as we grow older that we become more nostalgic for what was and not what is. All you can hope is that the best pieces of those times will be saved and repurposed.

Oct 25th 2011 11:39AM The old railroad depot in my home town in rural Illinois became obsolete when the passenger trains stopped making a stop at that depot. For years it sat idle and the railroad wanted to tear it down to get it off railroad property. Finally the city decided to buy the depot, move it to private property and begin to restore it. Now it is a museum of railroad artifacts and a community meeting area. And this was all done with donations from a town of 5000 residents. So many of these old depots have classic architecture and should be preserved for the future.

101-Year-Old Foreclosure Victim to Get Home Back {AOL Real Estate}

Sep 26th 2011 12:32PM I'm glad she will be returning to her home. And let's not put all the blame on the son, it's apparent he is not capable of managing her affairs. Both of them need help and support. I'm glad HUD avoided any more embarrasing publicity, paid the taxes, and is helping get this lady and her son back into their home. At 101, this lady probably won't be making HUD wait too many years until they take her house after her death.

'Jackass' Star Ryan Dunn Driving 'About 130 MPH' When He Crashed {PopEater}

Jun 22nd 2011 11:34AM I'm sorry that two young men had to die so needlessly and violently. I hope a lesson is learned to all young drivers that excessive speed can kill. My sympathies to both men's families. They are left to greive and try to understand why this happened.

Mom Defends Decision to Give 8-Year-Old Daughter, Britney Campbell, Botox (Video) {Stylelist (Main)}

May 12th 2011 10:00PM This entire situation is completely crazy. Want to see extreme crazy? Watch the show Tots and Tiaras. These are mothers who living vicariously through their daughters. Most of the mothers are "cows" trying desperately to fix themselves by torturing their daughters with the world of pageants. It is sick, sick, sick.

Small Business Sells Out of Kate Middleton's Wedding Perfume {AOL Small Business}

May 6th 2011 1:04PM I think it's great that small businesses are experiencing additional business due to Kate Middleton. She seems like a very down to earth Princess and the people can relate to her. Everyone wants to feel a bit special, maybe even like a Princess for a few moments in their dreary lives. And this is the 21st Century where product placement is as common as crumpets. I wish her and William a long and happy marriage and look forward to their upcoming trip to Los Angeles. Not that we don't already have enough "Queens" and "Princesses" in this city, but a royal Prince and Princess is special.
