T. Boone Pickens loses $1 billion on wrong oil bet {BloggingStocks}

Sep 26th 2008 12:41PM As long as gas prices remain high there will be a push to develop alternative energy sources. The Chevy Volt is a great idea. Unfortunately, if oil prices go down then the alternative energy push will fade away, it's just human nature to follow the path of least resistance and do what is easiest (cheapest) at the moment. The Tesla Roadster is also a great idea which we should be able to mass produce for a price comparable to ordinary cars - not Bentleys and Ferraris.

Electric cars will increase demand on power plants obviously, and I believe nuclear is the way to go. Nuke plants could be even more efficient and have less spent fuel to worry about if our government would allow breeder reactors like they have in France (We can blame Jimmy Carter for not already having them).

Solar thermal power also has potential especially in the southwest U.S. Solar panels are expensive and I bet they will stay expensive with their usefulness totally offset by greed. Wind power will stay expensive for maintenance costs and land area they require.

The $30 Million Diamond Bikini {Luxist}

Feb 20th 2006 2:11PM Who cares about the bikini? It's all about the woman wearing it. Put the diamonds on a 9 instead of a 10 and the 10 will get more attention even if her bikini comes from Walmart. Unless you are a gemologist.
