May 28th 2011 11:00AM SISSY???? When you use the term "sissy" you are showing yourself as a bully. Name calling is NEVER ok. Not at school, not at work, not at home, not ANYWHERE. It is offensive and wrong. If you have not learned that by now then you need to. Learn some manners and how to express yourself in a positive way instead of calling people names and insulting them. Name calling only makes you look foolish and completely diminishes the opinion you were trying to express.

May 28th 2011 10:51AM Kids can suffer from PTS for all sorts of reasons. A car accident, a death in the family, family stress from job loss or moves, a sick parent...it does not have to be from abuse. Know your facts before you blame someone.
Every school I've ever worked in has it's traditions. The "whammie" is probably just a light tap but educators know to ALWAYS ASK BEFORE YOU TOUGH. The principal should ask the child if he wants a "whammie". Some children are tougher than others and would not mind. Other children do not want to be touched by anyone, are shy, embarrass easily or they may have some other issue like the PTS that would cause a problem. In this case, the principal should have known better.

May 23rd 2011 6:05PM Children should go to bed at a reasonable time. They should eat breakfast EVERY morning. Parents should supervise their kids homework. They should go to parent/teacher conferences and if possible volunteer in their childs school for at least one event a year. If I am accountable for a childs performance in school then parents should be accountable as well. The sad fact is...there are a lot of parents who don't do their jobs. They let the TV and the VIDEO GAMES do it for them.
