Jul 24th 2007 10:42PM I have a 1989 Mercedes 420 SEL that I only paid $6200 for. It sold $69,700 new (equivalent of $175,000 in 2007 dollars). I can tell you that I don't care how little I paid for that car, I feel like a million dollars because it is such a nice car. I had a Volvo before, which was a good car. The Volvo parts prices seem higher than Mercedes, and I haven't found this car expensive to maintain, such as preventative maintenance. The satisfaction is in the true quality of the vehicle and everything that went into it. I could have spent the same on a Toyota or Honda or Subaru and had so much less for the money.

Feb 18th 2006 12:09AM As a consumer, I have no interest in GM food. I will do what I can to avoid such frankenfood. I hope others rule with their pocketbooks as well since it is the most effective means to fight the idea. I do not need to be a guinea pig for Monsanto.
