Feb 25th 2013 9:59AM Gordon, your issue with Theresa is that she's short-sighted. I would say that you are the one who is short-sighted. In fact, after all those tax-free "benefits" are added up, and not reported as the "entitled's" income, they are far better off than most. That you put out the democrat line about the "children" is predictable. How about if you're a parent, you provide the most BASIC needs of your children? Where is the incentive for our daughters, if they (living with multiple roommates, eating budget meals, and racking up college loans) are sitting in classes with girls who have everything (including tuition, books, supplies, child care, food, housing) completely paid for, tax free, just because they have children?
Aug 19th 2012 12:12PM Sure... it's the bank's fault. No problem that the people didn't pay their mortgage and violated their contract which results in the loss of the asset. They should live rent-free. Sure. What has liberalism done to this country? How destructive, on every level.
Aug 19th 2012 12:10PM The working 98%? Sorry, but half of them pay no federal income taxes. I don't want to be associate with them, thank you. I have no problem with people who make more than I do. It's called life. There will ALWAYS be a 1% and 2%. You would know that if you paid attention in 3rd grade math.
Aug 19th 2012 12:06PM Are you kidding me? "I don't condone..." but in THIS circumstance? Really? That's as bad as Oh, my neighbor is a jerk, and therefore I don't care when someone spraypaints his house, and poisons his dog, though I normally don't condone graffiti and animal cruelty. Geesh!
Aug 19th 2012 12:03PM NEVER make excuses for criminals. That's about as stupid as it gets. It's called trespassing and destruction of property. How about if you go on vacation and someone thinks it's vacant and in foreclosure? They trash your house and someone says "Oh well, shouldn't have left it empty!" You don't like that banks won't take a loss? Not your business. Not your property. People like you are part of the problem with this society.
Mar 29th 2012 5:30PM It is her HOME, for goodness sake, and it's a very basic mitzvah, required of Jewish families. In THAT place, right doorplace. No one should have to hide their religious beliefs, especially at HOME! (And by the way, I'm Catholic.)
Mar 29th 2012 5:26PM "Place them on the doorposts of thine house..." that is where it goes, and it is commanded to Jewish people. It just takes some education, I would hope, for the HOA to understand and then accommodate this very basic Jewish tradition. It's not a decoration. The rules of placement are very specific... The mezuzah goes in the upper third of the right doorpost (as you're going in).
Apr 13th 2011 8:51AM David, your measure of "good pay," especially for the enlisted and lower level officers seems to be a bit "off." They are putting their lives on the line, and IMO get very LITTLE for that. Deployments are longer and more frequent than they were in days gone by. The time between Vietnam and Iraqi Freedom was MUCH easier for the military, than it is now. These children go to school to learn, and are distracted, knowing that their dads are in danger. Cut them some slack.
Apr 6th 2011 12:09PM To Gladys, and all those who have no clue about the strength of emotionally disturbed children, you are wrong. I have been in situations where it has taken five adults to restrain an 8 year old who is "going off." It's amazing how much adrenalyn kicks in when these kids are past the point of no return. And how long they can last! It's exhausting, and dangerous. You don't let an angry child trash a room - not only because they will damage equipment, but because they can injure themselves. I find it very strange that this child has no issues at home. I truly don't believe that, but if it's true, he should be homeschooled.
