Two Men Detained At US Border For Carrying Chocolate Eggs {Gadling}

Jul 25th 2012 12:43AM These eggs are sold in every country except the United States. I guess that means only American children can choke on the toys? Or only American parents are too stupid to supervise their kids? Just wondering: Are "prizes" still inside Cracker Jacks? As I recall, they were pretty small, too.

Senior Risks Eviction Over American Flag Display {AOL Real Estate}

Jun 6th 2012 11:34PM Of course she has the right to hang a flag. However, she must hang it SAFELY so that it does not cause injury or destruction. As I posted earlier, someone in my mother's neighborhood put up a huge flagpole in his yard. It came crashing down during a storm and crushed a car. Luckily, nobody was inside. Nobody is disputing the right to display symbols of patriotism. She could find other ways to display her flag without attaching it to a balcony or weighing it down with flower pots. Do you want those flower pots falling on top your head if the wind takes them? Or getting impaled with a flag pole or staff? It's common sense, not anti-patriotism.

Senior Risks Eviction Over American Flag Display {AOL Real Estate}

Jun 6th 2012 9:03PM Really, it's a safety issue. Nobody is threatening anyone's partriotism. Last year, a huge flagpole that someone in my mother's neighborhood put up in their front yard came crashing down in a storm, crushing a car. Thank Goodness, nobody was inside. The housing authority does not want items attached to a balcony railing for good reason. So, why not hang a flag inside your sliding glass door? Or ouside it, for that matter. Attach each corner to the glass with a suction clip. Be creative ... but be practical and don't put somebody else's safety at risk.

Newest Disney Wedding Dresses for 2012 {Shopping Articles Blog}

Feb 18th 2012 6:35PM Don't be sorry .... unless you intend to wear one. It's a very unflattering style for most women.

Newest Disney Wedding Dresses for 2012 {Shopping Articles Blog}

Feb 18th 2012 10:20AM I'm surprised the gowns are all strapless. Strapless wedding gowns are kinda becoming out-of-style ( Thank you, Kate Middleton! ) Very few brides look good in a strapless gown and it's a style I'm glad to see fading. I guess the style was perpetuated by designers and retailers who could charge ridiculous prices for gowns that actually used less fabric. I mean, they didn't have to add sleeves or a bodice! I could never figure out why women who would not be caught dead in public, wearing a strapless dress or top would appear that way at their wedding?

Trend Watch: Cat's Eye Sunglasses {Shopping Articles Blog}

Jul 29th 2011 12:12PM "Cat's Eye" glasses were a 50's trend. The 60's look was more the oversized sunglass style, a la Jackie Kennedy.

Judge to Mom: 'You Don't Spank Children' {ParentDish}

Jun 21st 2011 2:33PM If a two year old baby had marks so severe that it had to be taken to the hospital, that is DEFINITELY abuse. And no, the generation who was spanked did NOT neccessarily turn out to be upstanding citizens. Prisons are FILLED with "Boomers" who were physically punished as kids. And it was the Boomer generation who turned against corporal punishment as a way to "discipline" kids. Funny how the age group that was smacked around as kids did not do this to their own. It's pretty obvious that if a child is spanked repeatedly, this method of punishment does not work. Ya think???

Britney Campbell, 8-Year-Old Botox User, Taken Out of Mother's Home (Video) {Stylelist (Main)}

May 16th 2011 10:47PM I'll never, ever understand these stupid parents who waste time and money on these outrageous kiddie beauty pageants. Most legitimate agents who handle child performers / actors toss resumes into the garbage as soon as they see the kid has done pageants. These poor pageant kids are usually "over-processed" and have lost the natural talent and spontaneous appeal that casting agents look for in children. It's the "backyard kid" who books commercials, TV and movie gigs. NOT the bleached blonde pageant princess and her kabuki make up. Toss out the fake hair, makeup and grotesque costumes and dresses. If your kid has "it", find a good agent and manager and they will send you on go-sees and auditions.

Paula Deen to Launch Home Decor Collection {Shelterpop}

May 9th 2011 3:33PM Just when the rest of the country is finding joy and less stress in adapting to a minimalist lifstyle, this phoney ( in my opinion ) comes up with more "decorator" crap. Just looking at the cover of her cookbooks makes my cholesterol skyrocket. Thanks but no thanks ... "Y'all" THIS.

Paul McCartney to Marry for Third Time {Spinner}

May 7th 2011 2:17AM My grandfather died at age 86 and except for some sparse gray at the temples, he had a full head of hair and it was BROWN!
