'Genderless' Baby Raises a Storm of Controversy {ParentDish}

May 26th 2011 5:14PM Initially, I thought the child might be a hermaphrodite, which I thought would explain why the parents won't reveal the gender. Other than that, I am confused because GENDER is important-there are hormonal difference and so on. On the other hand, I don't believe in stereotypical roles for human beings but gender certainly cannot be ignored even if it has to do with society's norms. Let's face it-growing up is difficult enough without parents adding to the confusion.

Jeff Conaway in Coma After Apparent Drug Overdose {PopEater}

May 19th 2011 3:33PM I came across this quote from Sophlocles while doing a crytogram and its wisdom has haunted me ever since, "The keenest sorrow is to recognize ourselves as the sole cause of all our adversities". I loved Mr. Conaway in "Grease", "Taxi" and as Zach on "Babylon 5". I hope he recovers and does not give up on himself. Sadly, he is the only one who can change his fate.

7 ways financial reform will impact your life {WalletPop}

Jul 21st 2010 5:09PM That is the annoyance of having a "nanny" government that decides what "best for you". Get used to it; this is just the beginning.

The McChrystal Scandal: How Would You Handle It? {AOL Small Business}

Jun 24th 2010 4:57PM The President made his decision. I respect that. I am more concerned about the current Afghanistan initiative. Is it the correct one? Does it make sense? Perhaps, despite the way it was said, the President should consider McChrystal's position regarding some of the President's civilian advisers in this war. Petraeus is certainly a popular and competent replacement. The President is right that it goes beyond any one person or two, for that matter, including the Commander-in-Chief. I think Obama should use this brouhaha to reconsider his strategy and McChrystal's points without rancor.

Social Security and government payments go all-electronic {WalletPop}

Jun 16th 2010 7:43AM With social security in danger of paying out more than they bring in, this is a great idea. It will be difficult for some seniors but if they go to their banks and ask them, they will be able to easily do direct deposit for them.

Mass. Catholic School Won't Admit Lesbians' Son {ParentDish}

May 13th 2010 1:02PM It is a Catholic School! Why would you want to send your son to a school run by a religion that thinks you are an abomination? Whatever you feelings about this and I think it is discrimination, you can't force a private school to accept anyone they don't want to.

Elena Kagan to Be Tapped as Next Supreme Court Justice {Politics Daily}

May 10th 2010 12:35PM There is no requirement for a Supreme Court Justice to have been a judge, although they usually are. It's a clever choice since she has no rulings that the Senators can dissect to their heart's delight.

Arizona's Immigration Law Likely Doomed in Court {Politics Daily}

Apr 28th 2010 4:22PM The law will probably be struck down one way or another. However, I fear that Washington ignores the situation at the border states of Arizona and Texas at their peril. The Mexican drug cartel has become brazen and actually killed Americans, even one who worked for the State Department. Will they only act when this lawlessness affects DC?

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer Signs Tough Immigration Law {Politics Daily}

Apr 23rd 2010 10:22PM This law will be challenged and we'll have to see what the Supreme Court says. I certainly don't know the Constitution well enough to know if states can actually do this. This is a result of the terrible violence slipping onto our border states from the Mexican drug cartel and our Federal government's inability or unwillingness to do something. At a time of deep recession and uncertainty, this kind of extreme action will be taken. History will be the final arbiter of this decision and its aftermath.

Bush Still Gets More Blame Than Obama for the Economy {Politics Daily}

Apr 21st 2010 10:14PM The blame is generational starting at least with LBJ. Let's stop the blame game and try to fix things. Between Obama and Bush, they doubled the national debt between 2001 to 2009. Obama alone is to blame for a 2.1 trillion deficit (which is now part of the debt) in 2009, so let's just stop this partisan nonsense and work together to fix it.
