Oct 13th 2010 12:32PM I have an '07 335i. Love everything about the car except for this problem. I will say that every time it's happened (I've lost count now...5? 6?) my dealer has fixed the problem quickly. In one case, they found the HPFP was failing before any symptoms showed up - the car was in for regular service.
That said, there's nothing like waiting two hours for a tow truck in the parking lot of a Denny's in El Segundo after it went into limp mode on the freeway. It's nice of BMW to extend the warranty, but that doesn't help when I'm stranded far from home. Just fix the problem. If it's a fuel quality issue, tell owners. I'd rather spend more on fuel than be stranded in an ugly part of LA and lose several hours of my life in the process.
The car makes me giggle every time I mash the throttle. Loved two BMWs we had in the family before. But I think this is my last one for a while unless BMW actually fixes the problem.

And as far as Monster Truck competition being "racing" and requiring "endurance"? Ummm... no. Strength, maybe. But nothing that lasts under a minute requires "endurance."

Linda Alvarado has nothing to do with the company - she owns the Colorado Rockies and was born in New Mexico, not Mexico. María Asunción Aramburuzabala is the granddaughter of Felix Aramburuzabala, one of the founders of Grupo Modelo.
Seriously, how hard is it to Google, Yahoo or Bing this to check a few facts? Did Tresalia really buy Artega, or was it sold to a South Korean concern?

Apr 23rd 2009 1:53PM As someone who makes part of his living from photography, I might have a different take on it, but I rarely travel anywhere without a flash and tripod (I have never owned a photo vest, and rarely have I wished for geotagging - I can see it being useful when you want to revisit a spot).
Now, my travel tripod is compact and carbon fiber, and none of my SLR bodies have a built-in flash. The tripod is great for capturing night scenes or longer exposures after sunset and blurring water (see yesterday's Photo of the Day as an example). As for flash, a good one can make artificial light look much more natural by bouncing and diffusing, and there are times when you need some fill (My wife and son on the beach with the setting sun in the background - no way you're going to make that look good without a flash).
Those two tools have helped me take some great photos on vacation, photos that I enjoyed taking, especially without the frustration of wishing for a tripod or flash that I didn't have.
