Star Island, Estate of the Day {Luxist}

Apr 15th 2007 7:06AM Quel dommage! What a cantankerous cacophony of crazy crap!

I would, however, roll up that rose Aubusson rug and put that in the car right away. Lovely even in pink.

Then I'd rescue that incongruous, yet adorable $99.99 Franklin Mint English Bulldog (three easy payments of $33.33! plus shipping and handling!) who is so stoically saving us from having to discover what horrors might lurk up the marble staircase.

Any guesses as to who/what is upstairs?

Bentley Continental flies to world ice speed record {Autoblog}

Mar 19th 2007 10:27AM Bob,

Are you married? Common sense really gives me a charge.

Susie

P.S. I have been known to buy and eat organic foods, but I drive my SUV to the market to get them.

Bentley Continental flies to world ice speed record {Autoblog}

Mar 17th 2007 2:38PM I wonder how thick the ice was when "Global Warming" started 6,000 years ago.

Try science. It's called a cycle.

There's a nifty science FICTION movie in the video store these days called "An Inconvenient Truth." It won the Oscar for Best Science Fiction Film. It's hilarious. They get people all spun up and stuff, but Ashton Kutcher never comes out and says "you've been Punk'd" instead it's Al Gore.

Stogie & Vine {Luxist}

Aug 5th 2006 3:14PM Great find!

I used to live in Tucson, and this is a much-needed venue. The owners of this new venture are young, dynamic, wordly, and sophisticated... and yet they get the big-small-town-charm thing Tucson offers.

Further, they are very involved in the community in the spirit of volunteerism.

Nice to see my hometown represented here. Thanks, Deidre!

Snakes on a Piece of Jewelry {Luxist}

Jul 26th 2006 11:39AM Throw it in the drawer with the mud-flap girl necklace, and the diamond horseshoe necklace, and the diamond circle pendant, and the diamond Targét Couture necklace... and every other overpriced trinkety piece of garbaggio that every aspiring trashionista thinks will improve her life...

Good find, Deidre! Lady In The Water floaty water wings, maybe?

Platinum Weddings {Luxist}

Jul 24th 2006 8:10PM I saw two of these episodes last night (the Persian/Mexican wedding and the Mexican/Argentine wedding) and I have to say that in SHARP contrast to "My Super Sweet 16," I did not find any of these people to be the least bit repellant.

At no point did I want to throw anything at the television or wish any plagues would befall any of them. The events were remarkably tasteful, considering the capability of going off the deep end with such budgets.

Paris Hilton Wants To Make Hotels Too {Luxist}

Jul 21st 2006 9:15AM And yet, her handlers can sometimes make her give us a good laugh.

(Jimmy Fallon & Paris Hilton on SNL in 2004)

JF: We want to find about you, Paris Hilton. Your family...the Hiltons own hotels all around the world.
PH: Yes, in New York, London, Paris.
JF: Wait, there actually is a Paris Hilton?
PH: Yes, there is.
JF: Is it hard to get into the Paris Hilton?
PH: Actually, it's a very exclusive hotel, no matter what you've heard.
JF: I hear the Paris Hilton is very beautiful.
PH: I'm glad that you've heard that.
JF: Is there double occupancy at the Paris Hilton?
PH: No.
JF: Is the Paris Hilton very roomy?
PH: It might be for you. But most people find it very comfortable.
JF: I'm a VIP, I might need to go through the back entrance.
PH: Doesn't matter who are you – it's not going to happen.
JF: Fair enough, okay. I throw a lot of events. Do they have ballrooms there?
PH: We do.
JF: Great, I'd love to have my balls held by the Paris Hilton. Sounds awesome. I'd like to check into the Paris Hilton.
PH: I don't think you can.
JF: Really? I'd only be able to stay there a minute and a half...two minutes, tops.
PH: Good luck.

Janice Dickinson, Jewel Thief? {Luxist}

Jul 17th 2006 11:14AM You picked a great photo of Janice, Deidre. (smirk) I don't think I could've improved on that.

Baby Brangelina's Domain {Luxist}

Jun 19th 2006 7:11PM You make a very, very good point here. Very funny and very astute.
