Apr 15th 2010 7:00PM I can come up with way more than seven places, but the real key is to READ the signals you're getting and back off if they are not clearly encouraging you to continue the conversation. But, just for the record...church is NOT the place to hit on women. We had one guy who acted like church socials were a singles' bar. He hit on my 14 year old daughter, even after he was told how young she is...then hit on my 28 year old daughter who was visiting me with her 5 year old daughter and TWO MONTH old son. How inappropriate can you GET? Not that it's all one-sided...we had a very aggressive female teenager in our midst as well. Pity the poor guys coming home from college...they were absolutely accosted. Church...don't do it, sir. (or Ma'am)

Nov 13th 2008 4:06PM You didn't see ANY Obama signs in our county. I would have posted one, but I was afraid for our lives and I'm dead serious. McCain supporters were THICK and full of bravado, spewing whatever hateful things they wanted from the PULPIT of my church. Didn't matter that they were lies and innuendo...they believed what they were saying and felt completely entitled to speak their minds and to use God's name to do it. This is a quote, though I don't know who to attribute it to: "You know you have made God into your OWN image when He hates the same people you do." Think about it. What are we doing? We cannot heal this nation if we don't stop this hatred. The whole world is watching us and we are failing miserably.

Nov 13th 2008 3:46PM I witnessed firsthand this incident in our small southern town: In our bi-racial church youth group, a young white girl told a "joke" about taking hunting dogs to the White House because a "coon" was moving in. When I censored her (harshly), she said she heard it from her father. Another child chimed in and said her uncle had sent it in an email to her grandmother. The two men here? The school resource officer and the youth pastor. To say that I'm appalled is just putting it mildly.
