Leftover restaurant bread - Take it or leave it? {Slashfood}
Nov 13th 2008 8:06PM I'll weigh-in on this: since you already had a doggie bag, it was fine to drop the bread into the bag, however, I do think it is rather gross to wrap it in a napkin and shove it into your handbag - not too sanitary or appetizing.
The World's 10 Most Expensive Hotel Suites {Luxist}
Oct 3rd 2008 6:29PM Those of you who think staying in a ridiculously expensive suite is immoral need to remember that it is immoral to judge and expensive is relative. At the same time, I agree with Jason that many of the people who crave this sort of thing are immature and I would add, will probably regret the expenditure at another point in their life (anyone remember MC Hammer?). Additionally, only a few people pay the advertised prices and most are treated gratis for some reason or another.

The Classicist: Mrs. Astor's Beechwood {Luxist}
Oct 3rd 2008 6:19PM I had my wedding reception here almost twenty years ago and if I recall, the dining room holds about 200 people seated - what is the rule - another hundred standing? So, 400 is pretty generous; 300 is more realistic. The house is beautifully situated and has, I think, the prettiest dining room in Newport. My memories are perfect and lovely. While I had a caterer, staff of the house made certain that everything ran smoothly - I had the house closed to tours that day - it was perfect!

Sep 26th 2008 5:31PM It looks like some of the thermopanes popped in his Amdega conservatory windows - the same thing happened to mine. I'm glad that I never ordered the roof shades - I thought they would look ratty after a short time and I was right!

Sep 20th 2008 9:17PM This is a very low estimate for the ring; it's probably a relatively poor diamond.

Sep 20th 2008 9:09PM I trust he redecorated the interior as well; it looks like a Sheraton.

Sep 7th 2008 11:16PM What an incredible home. Is that a Maxfield Parrish mural in the dining room? I have a few Parrish prints and books and don't remember ever seeing a reference to a mural in this house.

Apr 10th 2008 6:49AM I knew someone who lived in this building about 25 years ago and their apartment had a similar layout. It is an elegant city apartment - and by the way, as I recall, there is NO street noise whatsoever.
