Feb 7th 2007 2:10PM My wife acted like she'd forgotten Valentine's Day - which was my first clue something was up: no girl ever forgets Valentine's Day, right? Then a week later she casually said "Let's go downtown for dinner tonight" and she surprised me with tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters. I'd seen them when I was a kid and I had mentioned how much fun they were and even though she isn't that into basketball or goofy comedy she was clapping and laughing right along. Our seats were close up front so when they came around with the buckets of water we got sprayed a little and she didn't even complain. Partway through the 'game' she excused herself to the restroom and came back with a sweatshirt for me that I had admired when we walked in, but insisted was too expensive. It was great to feel so pampered and now I get why girls make such a fuss over Valentine's Day. I think I'll do the same thing for her this year but surprise her with tickets to Swan Lake instead. Wish me luck sitting through a 3 hour ballet and acting like I enjoy it.
