Dog found at summit of Kilimanjaro {Gadling}
Sep 3rd 2011 9:51AM I'm sure that some humane group could go up there with the proper equipment and a carrier to get the dog and bring it down without risking themselves. Once it was checked out a home could be found. Surviving is not the same as thriving or being comfortable. There must be times when that poor animal is hungry and cold. I can't believe no one has tried to rescue it.
The Mortgage Fix That Can Save the Economy {AOL Real Estate}
Aug 29th 2011 5:40PM The lenders DO reduce principal...they just don't do it for the homeowner who bought the house and is struggling to pay for it. They reduce the principal to market value for the person the homeowner sells the house to when they can no longer make the payments and either are forced to sell or go into foreclosure. It's called a short sale. The lenders give the benefit of a reduced price to a new buyer but not to the homeowner who desperately needs a break and wants to keep their home. Makes no sense to me. If they're going to reduce the price for a new buyer, why not reduce it for the current homeowner instead of putting them on the street ?
Iowa School Principal Delivers Birthday Spankings to Students {ParentDish}
May 28th 2011 9:48AM The principal should discontinue the birthday tap, not because he did something horrible but because some "whino" is always going to complain no matter what you do. He should also not give out lollipops...kids could get sugar over load. Stop the birthday cakes...their kids could get fat. Don't make them carry books...could strain their back. No more games...they could get hurt. Don't put bandaids on scrapes...may not be the treatment the parent wants. And whatever you do, don't hug or touch the kids in any way...a pat on the back for a good job is sexual harrasment. Put the teacher in a glass box with a microphone. Oops, microphone could squeek and hurt their ears.
'DWTS' Judge Bruno Tonioli Makes Karina Smirnoff Feel 'Dirty' {PopEater}
May 17th 2011 9:29PM I just don't understand why the judges thinks that Heinz or Hines or whatever his name is, is so great. He can't hold a candle to any of the great male dancers in past shows. There are several elimated dancers that were better than him. I don't enjoy watching him at all.
How Old Is Too Old to Wear a Miniskirt? {Stylelist (Main)}
May 13th 2011 5:47PM If a woman isn't supposed to wear a swimsuit after age 61 then what is she supposed to swim in? Her birthday suit? Or is swimming after 61 "outlawed" too? I'm 61 and I don't wear mini's but I certainly like my high heels and I look better in a swimsuit than a lot of women do that are half my age. I love tastefully sexy and fashionable clothes. I'm certainly not ready for orthopedic shoes and baggy tent dresses.
Still? Chelsea Handler Pokes Fun at Kirstie Alley's Weight {PopEater}
May 12th 2011 9:36PM I can't imagine why someone would want to make a living by being cruel and unkind to others. What a sad legacy to leave. Besides, acid does much more damage to the vessel in which it is stored than it does to anything over which it is poured.
How Much Do Celebs Make on 'Dancing With the Stars'? {PopEater}
May 6th 2011 12:34AM Why do people think it's o.k. to be so unkind ?
Karina Smirnoff in Playboy Could Get 'Dancing' Star in Hot Water {PopEater}
Apr 7th 2011 11:41PM I think it's extremely unfair to Ralph. Despite what many of you are saying about it being her own body and she should do what she wants, the reality is that many people will not like it and will turn on her and not vote for Ralph because they don't want her to win. Like it or not...fair or not...it could happen. She should have done it off season.
Amanda Bynes' Missing Puppy Found Dead {PopEater}
Apr 7th 2011 12:00AM I feel horrible about the poor puppy. I do not feel bad for the idiot who did not properly supervise it and let it out the door. Thank goodness she doesn't have children...or does she?
House Trends: Is This the End of the Living Room? {DIY Life}
Mar 21st 2011 11:53PM I do not like the kitchen to be seen from the front door or the living area. The kitchen is a work area of the home. Many years ago it used to be outside the main house entirely. I like the idea of a kitchen/family room combination but I don't want to take sales people, church visitors, childrens teachers, professional people etc. into the heart of my home. If feels like an invasion. I like a small sitting area for just such occasions. I also like to have dinners without having to overlook the area where the food was prepared. No matter how nice, a kitchen is still a utilitarian work station.
