Website Devoted To Washington Wine Launches {Luxist}

Jan 19th 2007 3:35PM Brad, thank you for your kind words about WineCOW.com and our efforts to promote Washington Wine.
Regarding the previous comments made by Mark Bolz, we would like to clarify for everyone the true nature of Wine Connection of Washington. WineCOW.com does not consider itself to be a retailer/reseller of Washington Wine, exclusively. Actually, the website was originally founded as a way to further promote the fantastic wines of Washington and the state's thriving wine industry. We also work considerably hard to educate young and/or beginning wine drinkers about what's really important in wine - to drink what you like, whenever and however you choose. And, to lower the predisposed intimidation (aka. “snob”) factor that has plagued the wine industry for decades from growing a larger, broader audience.
As advocators for the “wine underdog”, which definitely includes the Washington Wine Industry on a national level, we also strongly support the smaller, lesser known, boutique wineries of Washington, in which there are quite a few. One way for us to more effectively do this was to help sell some of these fantastic wines in order to get them out in the hands of wine drinkers and introduced to a larger audience. So, logically we started the WineCOW.com online wine store, through which we sell small amounts of some of the best wines in Washington State. This is also the same reason we started our WOW “Wines of Washington” wine club.
In closing, we do not actually consider Love Washington Wine to be a competitor. Nor do we categorize any other wine store or wine retailer as competition. So, there is no real advantage in us talking bad about them and hopefully they in turn will come to realize the same. Any business, online or brick, that chooses to sell and promote Washington Wine is an ally in our book. So, thank you Mark Bolz of http://www.lovewashingtonwine.com for helping to further support of the Washington Wine Industry! Cheers!
