Apr 9th 2007 1:54PM Matt Lauer ought to remember what he did for a living before landing the Today show. I remember some hack doing HBO entertainment briefs several years ago, and his name was Matt Lauer, the same Matt Lauer who before that couldn't hold down a local daytime talk show in Philadelphia. His ego has caused him to lose sight of how lucky he is. Meredith Vieira used to be on 60 Minutes and could clean Lauer's clock professionally. Maybe he knows that and is being jerky out of insecurity.

For some reason, even though we know wrestling is staged, it seems as if many people and media outlets went along with the WWE script and the illusion that Trump "might" have his head shaved. It's amazing that even after wrestling came out and admitted it's staged entertainment, fans would still rather pretend it's real.

Tyra herself expresses what to my ear sounds like sincere compassion for the losers, so why does her agent call the spinoff a "funny idea"? That to me smells like they're going to exploit the losers for laughs. I'd like to know a lot more about this idea.
