Real 'Paranormal Activity' Reactions: New Movie Seriously Haunting Fans {Moviefone Blog}

Oct 30th 2009 10:59AM the movie was ok but it is NOT scary. not even a little. when i went to see it most of the audience was laughing through the entire thing. and the ending is awful, and frankly a little insulting to the viewer's intelligence.

Parents of girl brought up on vegan diet may face charges {ParentDish}

Jun 11th 2008 2:58PM dairy products are the cause of sudden infant death syndrome, childhood-onset diabetes, as well as a plethora of other medical problems. children are dying of food posioning from meat all the time. do a little research and you'll discover far more omnivorous children are dying because of their diets than vegetarian ones. why aren't those parents ever charged? why don't those stories ever make the news? the media and the courts support the status quo. it has nothing to do with right and wrong--they don't give a damn about the lives of children--it only has to do with what's average.

i have been a vegetarian for 20 years and a vegan for around 10, and i am far far healthier now, at 45, than i ever was at 20. it is the ONLY healthy diet. there is no need for "alternatives." the only thing lacking from most vegan diets is b-12 and that only because we don't pick our food from the dirt anymore. i grew up on a farm. as a child i ate vegetables straight from the garden with plenty of dirt on them.

vitamin d is synthesized by the body as long as you get a little sunlight. it can be added to soy products the same way it is added to dairy products.

Another Baseball Fan Has Critical Fall {Fanhouse MLB Blog}

May 22nd 2008 9:35AM people choose to go to games knowing some danger is involved the same way they choose to drive on the freeway or mow the lawn knowing some danger is involved. i used to go to rock shows back in the day. i was almost crushed to death at alice cooper. i was almost shot at king crimson. i saw a guy beaten to a bloody mess at johnny winter. that was half the fun. life isn't safe. let's all accept that and get on with it.

Small Child Kills Large Bear; Davy Crockett Smiles From Heavenly Perch {Fanhouse Backporch}

Dec 12th 2007 11:32AM ignoring for a moment the disgusting and shamefull business of hunting at all, this story reminds me of the one a few years ago where an 8-year-old girl killed a bear. the situation was the same--a parent taking a child hunting. since a year never goes by without a hunter being acidentally shot somewhere it's only a matter of time before a child is killed hunting. is this really the sort of tradition we want to perpetuate in america?

Baby Girl Is a World Map Genius {AOL Video Blog}

Sep 26th 2007 3:56PM children can memorize anything most parents just don't take the trouble to teach them. when my son was that age i taught him the authors of about a hundred books. if he could have actually read those books that would have been something, but just remembering things is nothing for a toddler.

New Richard Dawkins Documentary - The Enemies of Reason {News Bloggers}

Aug 15th 2007 11:06AM "Well, it looks like teh religion that is called science has a new pope"

Although scientists make mistakes and even lie, science, in direct opposition to religion, is self-correcting. A falsehood in science will ultimatley be exposed, whereas the whole work of religion is to protect cherished falsehoods, even if torture, murder and genocide are needed to do it.

The argument "you can't prove that god doesn't exist" cuts both ways. Christians cannot prove that Shiva doesn't exist, although their religion insists that he cannot. This reduces to mere solipsism. All of creation becomes nothing but a fantasyland of the individual's making; the entire universe is but a projection of your bloated ego. This is precisely what the bible warned against as "vanity."

You may contiunue to defend this argument on what you imagine are logical grounds, but it's childish and, frankly, revolting.

Finally, while I cannot prove that god does not exist, I can prove that there's no need for him to exist. And that's all I need.

Moore Lashes Out on CNN {News Bloggers}

Jul 10th 2007 12:26PM Let's look at some facts. According to polls 82% of Americans want universal health care. According to The Wall Street Journal health care costs for employees are what prevents American companies from competing in the world market. So if we live in a democracy and a capitalism why don't we have universal health care? Where I work if I wanted the complete insurance package it would literally cost more than I make. I'd have to take a second job just to afford my first job, and I average 50 hours a week as things are. The funny part is a while back Bush came here to give a speech about health care and singled out my company as one of the best examples of health insurance in the country.

Are vitamin supplements really dangerous? {That's Fit}

Mar 4th 2007 9:25AM A well-conducted study of beta carotene supplaments a few years ago demonstrated that it's possible to take so much of phytochemical in pill form that the body can't absorb other phytos from food, leading to diminished health and, yes, higher mortality. This makes perfect sense, but doesn't mean vitamins are always bad. Nothing that comes in a pill should be considered a substitute for healthy living. I try to eat well but frequently working 15-hour shifts it isn't always possible, so I also take vitamins. But not every day. In my 20's, when I ate very poorly indeed, vitamins were a tremendous help to me. Now I'm in my 40's, a vegan, and the healthiest I've ever been in my life.

No one denies that people have a right to eat whoppers and drink booze and smoke cigarettes, and the government actually dumps toxic flouride into the water supply on purpose; so claims that anyone is trying to "protect" us from the dangers of vitamins are highly suspicious.

My5 Power Plate, Another Way to Vibrate Yourself Skinny {Luxist}

Jan 1st 2007 7:31AM This cannot but remind people of some previous "weight loss" machines that worked by magic such as electric belts that supposedly caused the muscles to contract by applying mild shocks. As the preious reader commented, a hoax.
