Feb 28th 2011 8:53PM I'm the baby of the family - I get along great with my two big brothers, but my sister - not so well (there's two years between us, six and eight between me and my brothers) One of my brothers gave me the best advice I ever got for dealing with her a few Chirstmases ago when I was getting ready to leave before the dinner or gifts because of her snide little remarks. He drew me to one side and said "One of you has to be the adult, and she can't" . . . Works every time!

Feb 17th 2011 3:18PM I did not chose to be a single parent. My husband found someone with no brains and a lot of money and left - spent all her money and they are divorcing now. My son is an honor student - just took the ACT in the 7th grade and is eligible for scholarships to pay for additional classes in high school. Childrne of single parents may have to do more chores than others, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Far better he's being raised by me than his father.

Jan 8th 2011 1:02PM Taylor Swift is a pretty girl, good songwriter, voice sometimes gets a little too whiny for my taste, but all in all, she's a huge step up from the Britneys and Mileys . . . My only real complaint is that she's constantly in the news - her publicist makes sure there's at least one or two news bites every darn day it seems. If you are good, you don't need to constantly remind us. Tone that down and let your talent speak for itself, or you'll burn out way before your time.

Jan 7th 2011 9:23PM These don't look so terrible that I'd freak out at the sight . .. not near as disturbing as the college seniors I see around campus wearing rumpled pajama pants and an over sized t-shirt to class. Heck, one girl appeared to not even take the time to brush her hair, just yanked it up with a clip. If you are fixing to graduate college, at least present yourself as soemthng approaching professional (especially for a 2 pm class!)

Sep 24th 2010 2:32PM I'll agree, she needs to spend a long stretch in a real facility, not a country club type thing. But it's when that's over that truly concerns me . . . Personal experience and a lot of counseling training taught me you can;t really get away from the scene unless you leave it behind. If she walks out into the same group of "friends" and partiers, she'll never get straight. Lindsay (or her Dad who acts so concerned) - find some real people to spend your time with and find a charity to spend your spare time at.
