Feb 11th 2011 6:36AM The players are employees, not partners in the business of football. They work for a salary, period. They have no business mandating access to the financials or a certain percentage of the revenue. That's nonsense and certainly doesn't apply to other employee groups. The owner invests his/her money and takes the risks. Again, the players are employees who work for a salary --- and a pretty lucrative one, I'd say.

Of course, if the players are unhappy they can exercise their options ie. a work stoppage or shop their talent elsewhere.
