Feb 18th 2010 9:55PM what about her movie I've seen a few times on Turner Classic Movies-It happened in Brooklyn-it takes place at New Utrecht High School..I am from Brooklyn and attended Lafayette..the same elevated subway served both schools.....this movie was made in 1947...I was born in 1950..My parents were married in 1947...........the other MGM stars playing with KG were Frank Sinatra,Peter lawford and Jimmy Durante....this was a good movie,too......the music was good and it was nice to see some of Brooklyn in the 1940's..........KG sang "Time after Time" and that song has been "covered" by a few others over the years........some opera singers can only sing opera...she wasnt one of them...........My Mom will be 87 on March 29 and still lives in Brooklyn..whenever she returned from a vacation,she would say ,"there is no place like home"............

Jan 28th 2010 11:22PM I get goose bumps thinking where would Frank Sinatra,RoseMary Clooney,Ella Fitzgerald,Louis Armstrong and Della Reese,among other famous singers,song stylists and entertainers of the 1930's,1940's & 1950's would have ended up if "American Idol' was around then...........that show is way too politically correct for me..........

Jan 28th 2010 5:32PM I work for a sales&marketing co. in the cable tv industry-in the last year or so they've been trying to find ways to cut their expenses-my dept was the first to get trimmed down...I am a very good worker to them,they saved my job(15 people were cut)BUT couldnt guarantee my usual 35 to 40 hrs weekly.A few months of that hurt me financially,so I went to their sales dept at $1/hr cut in pay BUT commissions could make it worth my while...A big mistake for me,I did well for a month or two
and then downhill from there,,,scripts that didnt flow easy and the cable companies are mainly concerned with us being compliant for legal reasons.....ROBOTS,we were........some of these companies,I am convined,actually "hate their customers"
if they are not in a "triple play"package and ordering movies out the "kazoo"..I'm back to my old dept to help keep my sanity.............

Jan 14th 2010 10:17PM on a more practical note,In the late 70's when Quebec wanted to secede from Canada,some Canadians I knew said if that had happened-All the other provinces would have applied for Statehood.Quebec didnt do it.....Maybe the other 49 states should threaten applying for Canadian citizenship if Vermont secedes from the Union??Talk about a small fish in a very BIG pond.......

in her coach section wasnt very nice to them because they flew at a discount and she was too old for her braided hair style-as were most of her fellow attendants.....primadonnas,I guess.......

I used to work in the airline industry-Air Canada did a luggage commercial with models who had on more clothes-it was at JFK in NYC.........that was done tastefully and so was this one........they knew where to draw the line...and they did

Aug 27th 2009 9:40AM I was a contestant with a crueller covered in coffee enhanced chocolate-since the Food Network star Ina Garten says to add coffee to chocolate because it brings out the flavor....I guess the judges were looking for sweet........a lot of contestants used marshmallow......toffee or marshmallow.......too sweet
