eBay Find of the Day: 1957 BMW 507 is a black beauty {Autoblog}

Jun 19th 2010 4:11PM Yep. Fantasy Junction near San Francisco has it for sale, asking price of $875k.

Stunning car, for sure.

Video: 2011 BMW X5 blasting around in the snow, starting at $46,675 {Autoblog}

Feb 7th 2010 12:34PM OK. Am I the only one tired of seeing SUV marketing with the vehicle with snow tires going through 2 inches of powder on a plowed road as a way to demonstrate it's "off-road ability"?

Show me what it can do busting through unplowed roads with deep drifts and heavy packed snow. Then I'll be impressed.

Oct 29th 2009 10:53AM This is infinitely cooler than that stupid drift video on autoblog the other day.

VIDEO: Best Drift Ever? Reverse-entry slide has JDM judges all aflutter {Autoblog}

Oct 26th 2009 1:39PM Drag racing requires far more technical knowledge in building and tuning than you'll ever comprehend and for the driver lightning reflexes and precision are of utmost importance since missing a shift by 0.01 second or being out of the groove by 5 inches can be the difference between winning and losing.

In NASCAR, 0.5 psi extra in the right rear can mean dropping off the podium, making sure you have just the right amount of fuel so you're not too heavy and also that you don't run out of gas, proper spoiler angle so you get maximum speed through the corner without losing on the straights. And for the driver, three wide and bumper-to-bumper at 175 mph for 3 hours requires nerves of steel and acute awareness of the car and your competitors.

And I don't even like NASCAR.

I'm as far from a "beer and smokes" loving "hick" as you'll find. On Sundays I much prefer American Le Mans, Formula 1, MotoGP, hell almost anything with wheels and a motor... except for drifting.

Face it, drifting is for unintelligent, untalented hacks who can't make it in a real racing series. Drifintg is to real racing like your weekend beer-league softball game is to Major League Baseball.

...bly stupid!!!! Drifting is still the dumbest "motorsport" ever.

Review: 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T Track makes more out of less {Autoblog}

Aug 27th 2009 8:15PM Sal, you're not serious, are you? A collector's car? Come on now, let's be real; the Genesis is nice, but hardly a "collector's car" any more than a Mitsu 3000GT VR-4 will show up on the 18th at Pebble.

I'll prance naked through Central Park the day someone parks a Genesis in their collection between a 63 split-window and a 365 Daytona.

Aug 19th 2009 11:21PM No contest, Aston Martin DB4 GTZ is tops in my book. Though really all of them are gorgeous.

Aug 19th 2009 11:18PM Thank you, lmag. Couldn't have said it better.

I can't help but smile when watching this video, not because I take pleasure in the misfortune of others, but because I know that the value of experiencing these fine cars as intended by their creators far outweighs the cost of the damage that occurred.

PICS + VIDEO: Mansory Vincero costs $1 million... on top of the price of a Bugatti Veyron {Autoblog}

Jul 17th 2009 6:53PM I think this car looks awesome, but I also have to wonder how much actual engineering was put into the customized parts. The level of expertise that went into the Veyron from the factory is massive, as are the physics involved with a car capable of the performance that the Veyron has, and yet here is some rich guy's tuner fantasy messing with all of that.

I hope I'm wrong and that Mansory really do have some well-educated and highly trained gearheads on their staff and that whatever they changed was tested thoroughly.... but I'm not holding my breath.

$3 Million Supercar Stars in UAE Mega Luxury Show {Luxist}

Feb 25th 2009 9:32PM ...furthermore, the cost of the parts for that car aren't likely to exceed $100k. Cool ride, but not for $3 million.
