By the Numbers - 2010: The Year After That Really Bad Year Edition {Autoblog}
Jan 5th 2011 12:04AM 2010 was still a terrible year, it was just not as bad as 2009. Over 14.5 million new cars were sold in 2007, and it seemed like the sky started falling in 2008 when only 11 million sold. But 2010? Less than 9.5 million. That's nearly a million more than last year, but still down by a third from where the market used to be. Looking back to 2006, today's GM and Chrysler sales are *half* what they were then. Ford and Toyota's numbers are 2/3 what they were. Sorry folks, but we're nowhere near out of the woods yet.

William Grant's Spirits of Summer {Luxist}
Apr 23rd 2009 8:57AM I have to second the Milagro recommendation - my wife and I have been sampling new tequilas this year and it has been our favorite of what we've sampled so far.
Stauer Watches for Men - A Small Splurge {Luxist}
Apr 21st 2009 4:06PM Despite the ad copy about European workmanship and hand crafting, "Stauer 1930" watches are made by the container load in Chinese factories right alongside the other cheap mechanical watches found on eBay for $50 and less.

Jul 9th 2008 3:36PM Where do we begin?
- nano-titanate battery pack
- 740-HP
- 90-mile range on a ten-minute charge
- motors at each wheel with independent traction control and regenerative braking
- running costs at least five times less than a car that gets 50-mpg
Fantastic claims from a tiny company which has yet to produce a vehicle. This is pure fiction, total vaporware.
Project Track Slut, Part One: Pick a weapon on the cheap {Autoblog}
May 3rd 2008 12:52PM I had a similar rollbar on my Miata and still couldn't run track events with several local clubs. It seems that for insurance reasons, more clubs are excluding convertibles from their track days, which is one of the reasons I sold the car and bought a used M3.

Venturi improves the about-to-be-launched Fetish {Autoblog Green}
Apr 25th 2008 1:16PM The was a segment on one of Discover's Futurecar shows, shot in Monaco in 2007, where Rodger Moore test drives a Venturi with his wife and surprises her by saying he bought it for her. If the Fetish isn't even on sale yet, was this a fictional scenario scripted just for the show?
