Dec 15th 2006 9:16AM Yes, "chameleons" are spectacular, particularly once you've seen them do their thing in person. It's an experience unlike any other.
You're very right, the avid collectors are truly obsessed with these stones and the very good, very large ones with depth of color and good, interesting secondary and tertiary color rarely stay in the marketplace very long. That is, if they ever make it to market! The second one, with an abundance of green hue is an example of a very fine chameleon.
